About Your character: Growing up in Chicago to a fairly well off family, Naomi wanted to be a ballerina when she was a child and her parents enrolled her in classes when she was three. By the time she was 13, she knew she wouldn't be able to become a professional ballet dancer because she was too tall. It didn't stop her from dancing though and she expanded her repertoire with all the other styles.
She learned to play piano as well and cultivated her voice into a smoky jazz style which helped her win auditions for school plays. Finding a love for drama as well, she transferred to the Chicago Academy for the Arts and then went on to the Chicago College of Performing Arts. While she loved performing, the sensible part of her beaten into her by her parents told her she couldn't always rely on her talent so she earned her bachelors in education as well.
Through it all, her parents and two older brothers supported her dreams but when she graduated they expected her to stay close to home. Always independent and free spirited, she chose to take off on her own at least for a little while. Her family isn't happy but know better than to try to tie her down to their ideals and wishes.
