Sir Wynn The Knave
Mercenary Knight
Currently under the employ of the Earl of Salisbury
Born in Year 440.
Sir Wynn is a mature knight in his forties. A man who began his life as a commoner, through brawls and tussles, Sir Wynn found himself working as a Seargent in the army of Aurelius Ambrosius, where he proved himself more than an accomplished fighter. There, he took to heavy drinking, whoring and gambling three things he still does to this day.
During Aurelius Ambrosius war to reclaim Logres, Sir Wynn came to the aid of an unhorsed Duke Gorlois, protecting the man against half a dozen Saxon Warriors while the Gorlois men made their way to them. The tales say Sir Wynn fought like a demon, throwing down his broken shield and taking up a sword in each hand. Sir Wynn survived the battle, a scar across his face and a knighthood from Gorlois.
Sir Wynn is, in effect, a man who didnt and doesnt have the qualities of a knight. He is a vengeful and deceitful man who has grown more and more dangerous with age. Now a noble but with no land to his own and no lord to take him into his household, Sir Wynn became a mercenary, which he still is to this day. Although rather strong for a man of his average stature, Sir Wynn makes up for what he lacks in brute force by being as vicious as a rabid dog in a fight.
He is rumored to coat the blades of his weapon in a deadly poison and is as good with a dagger as Sir Jaradan is good with a sword.
Sir Wynn is currently employed as a Mercenary Knight by Earl Roderick. Although technically serving Earl Roderick as a Household Knight, Sir Wynn is almost never seen at Court or around the Earls family. Rumors are that Sir Wynn acts as a buffer between the Earls personal honor and some darker county business.
Sir Wynn doesnt have particularly good relationships with most of the Earls knight. He is clearly disliked by Sir Agrather, with his most vocal opponent being Sir Leo. Sir Rholyn and Sir Elad both seem to have a form of quiet respect for Sir Wynn, both understanding that some evil is sometimes necessary when it comes to keeping the peace and waging war.
The only knight who might be called a friend to Sir Wynn is, somewhat surprisingly, Sir Primry, who probably admires Sir Wynns will always get the job done attitude and who knows the woes of having to pull yourself up by your boots straps.
