The man in charge of House Al-Kaje now that his brother, Damon Al-Kaje, has vanished. A shrewd man, Caiaphas aims to solve several problems at once by placing Mikhalis in the Tower instead of Zafir, Tikva, Namir, or Sophia -- Interregnum Lords rarely last long unless they are incredibly driven and fortunate, so either Mikhalis will die when House Al-Kaje is forced out of power (ridding the House of a fairly useless heir while sparing the more useful siblings) or Mikhalis will surprise everyone, prove himself to be a worthy Lord, and Caiaphas can take credit for "believing in his potential."
