Known as "The Just," "The Upright," or most commonly "The Well-Guided," Harun Al-Rashid attempted to bring many good laws to the people. He formed many Houses as an experiment in representative democracy, attempting to give the common people a voice. Sadly, his noble experiment ended in tragedy -- upon his death, the many houses bickered and then collapsed into civil war, which then left the city weak enough to be invaded by The Demurran Empire. But it was the failure to follow his laws that caused the problems, not the laws themselves, and his wisdom was legendary. Magistrates  and accused criminals today pay homage at his shrine and make offerings to be well-guided themselves and avoid partaking in (or being the victim of) unjust rulings.
