When the Demurran Empire captured Miir through treachery, the Emperor inflicted upon it the very worst governor he could find to punish the city for defying his might for so long. The governor and his son came to Miir from the frozen lands up north.

Both the Governor and his son detested Miir, but while The Governor attempted to do his duty, the son hated the place so much that he dreamed of ways to leave it. And one day it occurred to him that if there were no Miirians, he would not have to stay.

So he poisoned Lake Miir. Those who drank from the waters twisted and died in agony. And when he was captured, there could be only one punishment: death by beheading. But his father could not bear to see his child murdered, so he banished him from Miir instead.

The Son got what he wanted. But before he could celebrate, The Shadows themselves came for him, for they above all were offended by his acts. They closed around him and he vanished in the blink of an eye.

If you listen closely at a well at night, you might hear him screaming still. Or perhaps it is just the wind. Who can say?
