Dalir Ashgadeh has left youth behind; his trials have hollowed his cheeks and stripped away anything extraneous. He's a physically compact man, all his intensity channeled into busy hands and keen, roving eyes. His clothes are well made, but worn; he hides his relative poverty just enough for the polite to ignore it. Dalir's movements are brisk and pointed; he has a tendency to tilt his head as if physically shifting his eyes allows him a new perspective. There's a hint of a rasp in his voice, perhaps from too much drink...perhaps from something stranger.

Dalir was once known--both admiringly and derisively--as Dalir Longnose, a customs inspector in the employ of House Al-Hastur with a penchant for solving problems that were not necessarily his business. A few years back, he simply disappeared. Rumourmongers have noted his recent return and concocted a number of improbable theories about which party was responsible for severing the relationship to Al-Hastur. The proposed explanations for his disappearance are even more improbable, though the Shadows figure prominently in many of them.
