Balthazar has had a long and storied history in Chicago and the end result is that he is hated by almost everyone. He started out within the Anarch movement before betraying them to Lodin for a choice position as Lodin's sheriff. There he made it is his mission to put the boots as much as possible to the growing Anarch movement and his betrayal of his own clan caused him to be viewed as a traitor even by the Camarilla-aligned primogen Critias. Blunt and violent he was a hammer wielded against Lodin's enemies to batter them into submission. This gave Balthazar power and influence for awhile but when Lodin was overthrown Balthazar finally paid the price for his actions. The Primogen quickly removed him from official office and while Prince Peterson seemed receptive to reinstating Balthazar, Prince Jackson has all but exiled him from court. Now he seems to be in complete freefall acting increasingly unhinged at kindred gatherings and it seems only a matter of time before he does something stupid and/or violent and Jackson sends out the Hounds.

An interesting factoid is that for awhile many thought Balthazar was dead, killed at the hands of the rising Anarch star Persephone. Some kindred swear up and down that they saw him die and yet there he was still putting the boots to Anarchs like nothing had happened.

Balthazar has a very expressive face that mostly showcases his disappointment with everyone around him. He’s only seen smiling in the midst of a violent display. Yesterday’s well-to-do fashions fit a sturdy frame, and he’s got a rugged sort of handsomeness usually obscured by his ruthless nature. He has been seen in one contemporary suit he keeps carefully so that he can maintain an air of aristocracy while out and about but of late there’s a wildness about him that could rival a Gangrel.
