     She can influence what people around her are feeling (anger, happiness, etc).
    She has enough control not to do it without noticing... at least most of the time. The point here is to give some explanation to have it not affect other players when they don't want it but still allow for the potential drama it can bring if it happens :P.
    I'm thinking she can 'broadcast' base emotions when affecting a group but can be more precise when affecting a single person. Like, a group being angry because they're angry vs a single individual being angry at that specific person over there.
    For the really extreme cases that border on actual mind control like telling someone to jump off a bridge and that someone actually doing it no questions asks I'd say its something she has done in the past under very specific circumstances but its something she can't replicate and never managed to do again, whether because she's afraid of the consequences or too inexperienced or whatever. The idea here is to leave the background as is, give her a bit of a burden/more complexity while at the same time a glimpse of what she can be capable of and provide some potential growth.
Personality: (One paragraph minimum)
Selene is a manipulative woman, something she has learned well due to her mutant powers and their effects on others, who tends to be more than a little skeptical of what people think of her.  She is used to people doing things when she asks them to and has to be careful of just what she says as her abilities cane force people to do whatever she wants, even to the point of harming or outright killing themselves which she has learned the hard way.  While many might use these abilities to live a life of luxury or become royalty or wealthy Selene tries to avoid such uses of her powers, especially since she can’t fully control them.

When she does accept that someone has become her friend for reasons other than her powers Selene becomes very dependable and will go to great lengths to help them.  While Selene does try to avoid using her powers on people by mistake she has been known to use them intentionally under the right circumstances to get herself out of trouble though she is not always successful and most uses of her power are by mistake.  She understands how to be seductive and manipulative, even if she doesn’t like to be, and she has made it a priority to get a better handle on her powers to protect both herself and others.

Physical Description:  (One paragraph minimum)
Selene is a young woman of Argentina descent who stands 5’5” and weighs around one hundred twenty-five pounds.  She has a long neck, large bust, and wears her hair down to her lower back.  Her natural hair color is a very dark brown but she dyes it regularly in different colors with her hair currently mostly brown but the front four inches are a blue green color.  She tends to wear knee length or shorter skirts and blouses that are tight against her chest and often have some kind of cut out to let a teasing amount of her bust show.  She wears tight leather boots that reach midway up to her knees and has a tendency to wear bangles on her wrists and tight chokers around her neck.


Background: (two paragraph minimum)
Selene was born to immigrant parents from Argentina, Amancio and Marlina Bautista, and grew up in the state of Texas.  It wasn’t the best life in the world as immigrants were often marginalized and treated poorly in that state but they made ends meet and Selene did rather well in school.  When she reached her teen years Selene began to influence people around her without realizing it.  She became the focus of all the boys and even some of the girls and they would do anything for her.

When she turned sixteen Selene’s life turned upside down.  Her current boyfriend, Tommy Brown, had been extremely smitten with her and decided they should take she needed to put out because he loved her so much.  Selene tried to get him to back off but he refused to accept no for an answer.  Selene smacked him and told to go curl up and die somewhere.  To her shock Tommy said “OK” and turned around and left.  She ran home and told her parents what happened knowing there would be little they could do about Tommy.  The next morning Tommy wasn’t at school and the day after she found out that Tommy had done exactly what she told him to do as he had dug a hole and curled up in it where he promptly died!  Selene said nothing to her parents but she promptly ran away and never looked back.

Selene ended up in Los Angeles and lost herself in the crowd.  She fell into prostitution for a short while until she got hired by a wealthy man who she managed to charm into putting money into a hidden account and forget about it.  This gave Selene enough money to get by without whoring herself out and she managed to get her GED about the time the super weapon detonated.  The world changed and Selene managed to find a way to change with it.  She began to attend college when she was only nineteen to study counseling knowing that it would give her a way to make a career if she could learn to better control her powers.  Sadly a professor fell under the sway of her powers and she was forced to flee before things got out of hand.  She heard of the island that X-Corp had set up and, while it made her leery, Selene went tot he local X-corp office and asked to be taken to the island where she could try to learn to control her powers better.

Hobbies: Selene enjoys dancing, listening to music, and is a closet sci-fi, manga, and anime nerd.  She also practices aikido to defend herself from overzealous fools affected by her powers.

Sexual Orientation: Bi-sexual with submissive tendencies.
Relationship With Family:  Estranged, she has not contacted her family since she killed Tommy to protect them from any legal ramifications.
With Friends:  She is on good terms with her few friend from college but has not spoken to them since she came to the island.
