Attractive, charismatic, and smart, Madison "Poppy" Patel, like the bright red flower of her namesake, was always the girl who stood out amongst the crowd. The daughter of an upscale Parisian restauranteur and a Cajun doctor of East Indian descent, Poppy inherited a beautiful blend of international genetics that helped the twenty-two year old's success as a top runway and editorial model. She stands at a respectable 5'7" with a creamy cafe au lait complexion, dark hair, fine bone structure and a pair of mesmerizing hazel brown eyes that seem to convey the full spectrum of human emotion with the subtlest of expressions.

On the surface, one would assume the young woman to be just another pampered rich girl, but there's much more to Poppy Patel than meets the eye. Poppy was a lonely only child. Her parents were both working professionals and divorced when she was thirteen, which only brought her and Lorei Cannon, her schoolmate and best friend, closer together through the years. The girls' fathers worked closely together, and after the traumatic experiences of losing both her mother and older sister, Lorei seemed to "adopt" Poppy as a sibling in kind.

A compassionate, deeply empathic young woman, she nonetheless seems to be harboring a secret or two since reuniting with Lorei in New Orleans. Lorei doesn't pry too much, but Poppy knows her friend well, and the vernal equinox is already upon them. It's going to take a miracle to keep Lorei from figuring it all out before Midsummer.
