Eldwin Wolff

THE BASICS
Name: Eldwin Wolff
Nickname: Fluffy, Teeth, Fangs, Fido and other animal related nicknames.
Age: 25
Weight: 180 lbs / 81 kgs
Height: 5'10"
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Green (Normally)
Distinguishing Marks: Eldwin has bright emerald-green eyes that almost seen to glow slightly if one stares at them for a few moments. If he has used his powers recently they actually shine in the dark, much like a feline's.

Physical Description: Despite not being particularly tall, large or imposing, Eldwin takes good care of his body and is a fairly athletic man. While he is not really drop dead gorgeous he does have some natural charm and good looks. Eldwin usually sports a somewhat trimmed beard which he feels make him look a little older but tends to add to his boyish face. He has a friendly attitude most of the time and his posture and body language shows this, it's difficult to not see him with a smile on his face whenever he is talking to his companions or even doing his own thing.

Lineage: Son of Thoth... and Geb (kinda).

INTROSPECTION
Personality: Eldwin is a fairly laid back and friendly man, but his most obvious trait is his positivity and energy. Not being someone to get bogged down looking for the problems in situations, Eldwin prefers taking matters into his hands and doing something about it, even if he sometimes forgets to consult those who are in charge before doing so.

Naive and somewhat stubborn, he can sometimes miss the forest for the trees whenever he sets his eyes on a goal as he tends to shift his focus from idea to idea very quickly. His friendly nature usually has him doing something or other in order help others, sometimes at the expense of himself. Those who do get to know him better soon find out that Eldwin is very contemplative when he is alone and can sometimes overthink situations if left to his own devices for long.

Strengths: Positivity, Cooperative Attitude, Adaptability. His powers are very versatile and this translates into a very creative mindset, Eldwin is also naturally good at finding ways to use his powers to assist others and is comfortable both as the center of attention and on the sidelines of most situations.

Weaknesses: Can be naive, not take problems seriously until is too late specially if he is the only one affected, show dependence on others to have the drive to put his heart into things as he can get lazy if left on his own.

Fears: To be left alone and considered a nuisance. To fail at protecting his companions or the world. To succeed only to see that he was on the wrong side.

Hopes: To fully grow into his powers and understand his place in the world. To find those that would share in his life and goals and reach to their full potential together, regardless of origins or pantheons. To truly become part of this amazing world of gods and magic and help mend its faults.

TALENTS AND ABILITIES
Inherited Godly Powers:
Nature Magic - Eldwin inherited some of the powers of his more nature inclined father, Geb. Using the Life power that resides in him he is capable of willing magical effects related to nature and animals into being, not unlike the power of druids or similar magic of other cultures. His powers are limited to minor and subtle effects unless he has help from other mages or sorcerers.

Eldwin's powers also tend to passively bleed to the area around him, plants don't seen to rot as quickly and animals tend to be less agressive. He needs to stay in an area for quite some time for it to have any real effect though.

Shapeshifting - Eldwin can use his connection to magic and nature in order to shift his body into amalgams of beast, man and nature. Normally he can choose to shift a part of his body into an animal part that doesn't deviate too much from his own (like tiger claws for his arms, creating a tail for balance and other mild changes) as well as completely shift into an animal that is not much larger than himself. Interestingly, any time he shapeshifts (completely or otherwise) a part of the animal presents a small mark of nature on it (leaves sprouting on a bird's wings or vines growing of a lion's mane for example) so it's fairly obvious the animal is not completely normal to anyone looking. He can only change or take characteristics of animals he knows fairly well though and so far that includes less than a handfull.

Spellcraft of the Underworld - After studying the Book of Gates and the Book of Going Forth by Day Eldwin learned to use magical rituals to empower his magic. If he has access to the books, time, materials and (if necessary) help to prepare the correct ritual he is capable of creating more pronounced or specific effects with his powers. Those rituals can sometimes take days of repeated preparation and ritual in order to execute, more often than not require the help of other magic inclined Demigods to produce substantial results and can be quite dangerous to the participants.

Basic Skills:
Cooking - He's a really good cook. Years from learning under his foster father who is a very successful cook.
Charming - Eldwin is not an adept at formal etiquette, but he can be disarmingly friendly.
Survival - Developed more recently as part of his training. His powers help a lot.
Biology - Broad academic knowledge about animals and plants. About some mythical ones too (not as much).
Languages - Can speak English, French and Egyptian fluently.

THE JUICY BITS
Backstory: Eldwin was raised as an almost completely normal human for most of his childhood, unaware of his godly heritage until he was a young adult and left his foster fathers house. As he moved into his own place he was greeted by his... well... fathers, plural. Thoth was the one to sit Eldwin down and explain why he had never known who his real parents where, and where he came from. Turns out sometimes gods like to be creative on how to get their children.

Eldwin found out that his mother, a fairly skilled but lonely egyptologist/archeologist who was working at an excavation in the Valley of the Kings got the attention of the god Thoth with her skills and determination, but there was a problem. The woman was healthy and perfectly willing to have a child, but she was completely barren and simply incapable of conceiving a child, a fact that nearly devastated her once she found out.

Seeking to help the woman that so intrigued him, Thoth sought the help of his fellow god Geb and his mastery of nature and life to heal her womb. Geb accepted but in exchange for healing her womb he demanded that she gave herself to him for one night. Reluctantly, she accepted and Geb brought life to her with his power, causing a small seed of life to grow in her womb. From this seed and from Thoth's love Eldwin was born, at the cost of his mother's life whose lifeblood fed his own existence.

Thoth and Geb, despite their differences, agreed on this outcome and to share fatherhood of this fated child. Thoth found adequate parents and organized things so that Eldwin would fall into their hands and be raised well until he was ready to learn of his lineage. As a gift to him and as payment for taking the life of his mother, his fathers gave him two books, the Book of Gates and the Book of Going Forth by Day, so that Eldwin could learn about how the world he was about to embark on worked. To their surprise (mostly Gebs) the young man not only took to all of this a lot better than most would but also showed talent in the more mystical applications of his gifts.

Together, Thoth and Geb have been guiding Eldwin on his training and studies so he can finally join the other demigods on the island, a prospect he is perhaps more excited about than he probably should be.

Alignment: Gods/Humanity - he believes, at least for now, that the interests of both are perfectly aligned.
