If there is one image of the Fox Clan, it is of a lithe, slightly wild mystic. Kitsune Sorano does little to dispel this image, though she does clothe it in fine russet silks while at court.  Her eyes glimmer with the vivid green so common to the oldest Kitsune families, a fact which makes her piercing gaze all the more intimidating; or so the gossip goes.  In truth she interacts little at court, seemingly content with being overlooked, and is usually found conversing with fellow shugenja or meditating in the gardens.

Her appointment to the Emerald Magistrates was met with little fanfare, and only token resistance; the Fox Clan's legendary neutrality provided little reason cause for opposition, and her measured tenure in that office has silenced any critics.  (Or perhaps they perished of boredom.)  She is reputed to be one of the finer herbalists the Fox Clan has produced; her treatise on the refinement of nightshade countertoxins was met with some acclaim last year.  Amongst her well-worn scroll satchels, she wears a very fine, very old wakizashi, which the discerning eye can tell was forged by the master smith Shiba Hidenori some four centuries ago.  Neither the Phoenix nor the Fox have been forthcoming on this subject.
