Otomo Chiyowaharu  乙鍪 千代和春

"Pretty but not beautiful", young Otomo Chiyowaharu is of average height with the type of lean, muscular build shared by Hiruma runners, members of the Doji dance troop, or Dragon Monks that spend all their time climbing mountains. She has deep, penetrating eyes the color of jade which reflect a wisdom beyond their years -- the type of wisdom that can only be found in one who has lived a hard life. Her hair is the deepest black that seems to have a bluish sheen in bright sunlight (a sign, Shugenja say, of her close ties to the Water Kami). Her skin tone and nails are both very healthy, the type that indicates that this Samurai has seen lots of sun. A pair of very nice menhari-gata are tucked into her belt, one on each side, each next to a pair of Emerald handled jitte, on either side of an overflowing spell scroll pouch.

Chiyowaharu is known as "the quiet one", for her propensity to defer to her "older" sister. Quiet, thoughtful, and observant there is very little that escapes her attention. She is clearly not as comfortable in courtly situations as an Otomo ought to be, and is as polite to Hemin and Eta as etiquette allows.

Chiyowaharu's keen powers of observation earned her a spot as an Emerald Magistrate's Karo, and she seems to be quite comfortable with the "on the road" lifestyle. She travels with a child, a little girl, that hails from an orphanage; for some reason, Chiyowaharu feels compelled to take care of the Orphan girl, though not much is said of her.

Rumor has it that this one "wields a mean Tetsubo". A second rumor has it that the Phoenix already consider her a master of Spellcraft who has defeated seasoned veterans in practice duels.

Yuki
Known only as Yuki, this budding little shugenja is all of maybe 4 years old. Her appearance is somewhat  unusual -- hair of pure white, skin tone to match, and blue eyes the color of ice. Rumors state that this little one was taken from a monastery either in the south of or just south of Phoenix lands, one that abuts the mountain range there.

Seppun Toma is an Emerald Magistrate that has taken a liking to Chiyowaharu and makes sure to help his friend ... where it makes sense. Chiyowaharu was his Karo before coming here.

Seppun Toma's wife, this one also counts herself as a friend. Unlike her husband, Aoi is a shugenja and helps Chiyowaharu in more professional ways.
