Physical Description: Zaryn is a rather tall man at 6’ 3” and is thin but stronger than one might assume. He has jet-black hair that falls in a mess to his shoulders framing his face. His eyes are a dark grey but the pupils take on a red glow when he is empowered and hunting. You will rarely find him wearing a color lighter than black, although some of his items have red accents.

A black mark twists across his torso and arms, which is that mark that was left on him when Erebos chose him.


Personality: At first when one meets Zaryn, he may seem standoffish and as if he doesn't feel like you are worth his time. Part of this stems from the fact that he is constantly skeptical of the world and all of his inhabitants. He was raised looking for the worst that the land could through at him and has spent most of his life fighting the evil.

There are those however who he will start to trust and once they prove themselves they are able to get on his good side and he is willing to open up and give them a chance. Very rarely will he talk about his past though, and asking about it will get you know where.


Background:
Zaryn was chosen, even before his birth, by Erebos, the deity of the dead, Zaryn's parents were horrified when he was born, his tiny body marked with a rose red pattern that wound along arms and chest. Afraid the boy was cursed he was abandoned at a nearby orphanage, though the Bracer Guild soon took him in, becoming the only family the boy had ever known.

As Zaryn grew, the mark upon his body darkened, now likened unto black. His affinity to detect and penchant for destroying undead was noticed by the Magisters of the Guild and he was taken to a nearby monastery to Erebos, where he was thoroughly tested. It was found that the deity had marked him, gifting him with the ability to see through illusions cast by the undead to walk among men.

The church then, along with the Bracers, began training the young man. His natural sight allowed him to reveal the undead at a glance, now he just needed the skills and the tools to bring to bear. Soon he was excelling at his training and was sent out on his first Bracer mission at the young age of 15. Magicite hand crossbows with silver tipped bolts, as well as a sword whose blade extended to the ethereal plane, were given to him. His first mission was a success and Zaryn was a full fledged Bracer then, specializing in hunting and destroying the undead.

Skills/Abilities:
-Unerring Sight; this natural vision of Zaryn reveals undead no matter what form they take or what illusion they might cast
-Excellent marksman and swordsman

●Main Weapon: Twin hand crossbows
-These hand crossbows are auto-loading, requiring no action save the pull of the trigger to activate them. The ammunition they use is still finite however.

●Off Hand: Ghost Touch Sword
-This sword's blade also affects the ethereal plane, allowing Zaryn to strike beings such as ghosts and poltergeists that hide there to strike at their victims

-This armor is blessed by a high priest of Erebos, and all physical attacks from undead of any sort are greatly mitigated or even negated completely

●Accessory: Banishment Stone
-This specialized piece of magicite allows Zaryn to expel supernatural entities from their hosts. This is most commonly ghosts, but also works on demons and other extraplanar beings that use mortals as vessels
