The Physical

Physical Description: Katja is a taller than average girl standing at 5’7” and considered underweight by many at 115 lb. She doesn’t have much extra fat on her body and therefor has a thin slender frame with petite features. Although she isn’t completely lacking when it comes to curves, she is often envious of the more well endowed girls.

Long light blonde hair frames her face and falls down to her mid back. Her face is soft and feminine with dark eye brows, soft lips, and large blue grey eyes. She typically doesn’t wear much make up, but when she does it’s usually in dark shades. Her style doesn’t have a way to be describe other than uniquely Katja, however the colors tend to fall on the darker side of the spectrum. On her feet she often wears black Dr. Marten’s.

Distinguishing Features: Apart from her unique style, the most distinguishing feature of Katja is that she possess a few tattoos including ones on her shoulder, wrist, and back. She also wears a necklace with a silver pentacle pendant on it every day.

The Personal

Personality Description: Katja is a firm believer in just being who you are and not trying to change yourself to get the approval of others. She does what she wants and doesn’t care about what others think. Kat has always took pride in the fact that she is willing to be real with the people in her life, even if it sometimes pushes others away. She won’t hide her opinion and does what makes her happy.

Many of her interests and the way she can be so blunt has had a tendency to alienate her from other people, but Katja has never really had a problem with not being liked by everyone. She would much rather have a small group of close friends she can love and trust than be liked by everyone.

Goals: To stay true to herself and her history. To find her place at Brakebills since it’s her first time going to a real school. To become the best magician she can be.

Likes: The creepy and occult, Norse history and mythology, metal music, snakes, Wiccan and Pagen practices.

Dislikes: Fake people, stuck up bitches, know it alls, too hot of weather, running, spiders, onions.

The Biographical

Characters History: Katja was born in Bergen, Norway to a family of non-Magicians. Her father is a musician and met her mother on tour. She became the videographer for his band and quickly joined him on tour. Not too long after they got married and within a year Katja was born.

Most of her childhood was spent on the road with her family so she was homeschooled throughout grade school. The way she was raised gave her time to focus on many extracurriculars and she found a love her music and singing at a young age thanks to her father. Her mother wanted her to focus on her heritage so she spent time studying Norse Mythology. Katja’s interest in Wiccan and Occult practices also came from her mother who was a praticing Wiccan.

Through her research on Wiccan magic as a teenager she stumbled upon information that magic might be real in so many different ways than she had previously believed. She became focused on practicing some hedge witch magic even though it was dangerous and found out that magic really was real. Katja pushed things too far however and got herself into a dangerous situation with local hedges. It was something that scared her away from real magic and swore that she would never try it again.

However just after she turned 21 she found herself on the Brakebills campus after stepping through door in a museum in Munich where she was visiting for her birthday. Katja was hesitant about the exam and attending the school after what had happened to her with the Hedges a few years before, but she couldn’t pass up the chance to study Magic in a controlled environment. She passed the exam and soon was placed in the Physical Discipline.
