Physical Description: Eadwulf is 5 10 tall and weighs 175 lbs. He has a muscular build but is also surprisingly agile. He has brown hair with a beard and blue eyes. He has several scars from wounds received in battle but most are fairly old, weathered, and are hard to spot on his body from a distance.
Personality: For the most part, Eadwulf has a happy, outgoing personality, and definitely enjoys carousing. He's witty, likes jokes, and enjoys spending his free time with any available pretty lady. Eadwulf is daring both in battle and the lovers he chooses (not worried about who a womans husband is). If anything he is perhaps a little too overconfident. .
Biography: Both of Eadwulfs parents, Aethelwulf and Eadwyn are alive. Aethelwulf his a yeoman farmer and Eadwyn takes care of running the house. Eadwulf has three older siblings, two sisters (Hildeburh and Sunnild) and a brother (Osric). Hildeburh and Sunnild are married with families of their own, so he is not very close with them. His brother Osric looks down on him and Eadwulf suspects it is because Osric is serious and dutiful while Eadwulf is not.
From about ages 7 to 11 years old, Eadwulf helped his father in the field. However, whenever he could, Eadwulf would sneak off and use a stick a have pretend sword fights. It just so happened that when Eadwulf was 11, he used his stick sword and dealt justice to several village boys who had been bothering a beggar. The ealdorman (lord in charge of the village) witnessed the incident he saw potential in young Eadwulf. The ealdorman had Eadwulf come and serve a thegn (ealdormans soldier). Eadwulf trained and served the Thegn. At the age of 14, Eadwulf was in his first battle, against a raiding party from a nearby village and killed his first man. Eadwulf displayed his skill and became a better and better fighter as the years passed. He did receive his share of cuts and slashed while fighting which left scars that Eadwulf considered a badge of honor.
When Eadwulf, was 18 years old the ealdorman made him a thegn because he was a very a good soldier. He has served the village well over the nine years. Eadwulf chose not to get married but has had affairs with about a third of the young women in the village. He is reasonably discrete and while there are suspicions about his activities, they havent been proven. Since Eadwulf has proven himself to be a valiant defender of the village, most people there tolerate his indiscretions.
