Personality: Quick of wit, dark of mood and humour. His loyalties are narrow but deep, and generally personal rather than abstract. Independent, but able to forge meaningful relationships.

He is likely illiterate, and distrusts academic learning, priests, and mystics in equal measure, though he offers courtesy where it is required of him.

Biography:

Raised on the streets of a local town, Cedric made his living as a child hunting rats and selling their meat to those little better off than himself. As he grew to late childhood, he found he preferred the outdoors, and had an excellent eye with the sling, finding it far easier to make his living selling rabbit furs and meat than rat. At the age of twelve he caught the attention of a local bowyer, who had begun to get long in the tooth without an heir to succeed him. In exchange for meat and hides, the bowyer began to train Cedric in trade, which had been imported from wales.

For the last five years Cedric has learned the craft of making and using bows, building on his existing woodcraft and stealth.

Although his origins are humble, and he is ill-at-ease among the wealthy, he aspires to a position of respect among the Saxons, viewing it as an achievable goal for one as resourceful and independent as himself.

His nickname was given to him by other hunters, who both mocked and admired his willingness to swim into a river after a stag he had fatally wounded with his bow, before the carcass could be dragged away by the current.
