Disciplinary data:

Appearance: A young woman you might guess to be in her early twenties or even late teens, which for some makes it hard to take her seriously, except the RBF and the hardness of her eyes tells you to watch out.  She only comes up to five feet even in height, which only adds to the image of her being a teenager, still waiting for that growth spurt that will never come.  Despite her relatively small stature, she appears both solid and feminine at the same time with very little body fat with any visible portions being well muscled and toned like a trained athlete or gymnast, but with curves that tell you she's more woman than teen -- well balanced and proportional.  Her movements are fluid and graceful like a dancer with the easy tension of a powerful feline seemingly ready and able to pounce in a split second.

Disposition: Outwardly many believe Kitty has RBF, which she sometimes plays up as needed to garner the respect she deserves or needs to maintain control as an NCO.  However, Kitty is really a very personable, likeable person that generally gets along with everyone, unless she's given reason not to trust or like you.  She doesn't have many close friends, but those she does call friend are lucky to have her, as loyalty is one of her key traits.  Kitty carries herself with confidence, but not cockiness, at least she doesn't think so.  As a combat veteran, she is humbled by her experiences, rather than boastful.  Although her relatively diminutive stature sometimes causes others to underestimate her, there's no doubt she is a combat arms NCO, as she will knife-hand the sh*t out of you and lean into your a** -- if it's necessary.  Her humor is a bit off, perhaps borderline in terms of lewdness and a potty mouth, but what else would you expect from a seasoned grunt.

Kitty Summers was born on the forgotten borough of Staten Island in the infamous New York City as her father, Scott Summers, a full-time U.S. Navy Reserve Intelligence Officer, served at "The Homeport" -- the Fort Wadsworth part of Naval Station New York prior to it actually opening and being fully operational in 1990.  Her father went on active duty in 1990 for the start of the Global Civil War when Iraq invaded Kuwait, and thus began the real life of a military brat, as Kitty and her mother, Jean, were moved to on-base housing at the famous Naval Station Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii.  This was probably where Kitty got the most exposure to the U.S. Army as the housing was actually owned and run by the Army.

The intervening years between the Summers' move to the lovely island archipelago State of Hawaii, and Kitty's own departure from the nest to enlist in the U.S. Army, saw one crucial move to MCB Hawaii in Kaneohe, HI.  This rather isolated base led to the downfall and rebellion of Kitty's teenage years.  She did well enough in school, graduating from Kalaheo High School, and even though Kitty and the school got high marks for testing well, the reality was it was an animal house.  Kitty didn't have to wait till the Army to learn how to throw a punch, but she luckily escaped any major harm, or official trouble, like arrest.  When she was 18 years old she left home to have a self-imposed gap year before college, at first trying to make it on her own, she spent some time in New York City trying to make it as a dancer, the dream of a little girl that turned into the nightmare of dancing at a strip-tease joint to pay her rent. "Katz", a hole-in-the-wall spot that snuck under the radar of out-dated city ordinance codes of the old Times Square entertainment district on the second floor of a building in the middle of West 44th Street, between 7th Avenue and Broadway that you only knew existed by the cheesy red and pink neon sign complete with the silhouette of a woman with a boa riding a pole flashing like she was throwing her head back and forth.  That lasted all of eight horrifying months before Kitty realized she needed a real job and needed to go to college, but since she left home her parents decided she had to pay for school herself -- so as much as she hated it, the military was still offering college money.

She did want to be a Marine at one point, partially rebelling against her father, and for the esprit d' corps, but after dating an infantry Marine, she decidedly did not enlist in the Marine Corps.  The Air Force never returned her inquiries, so she went with the Army, who was also offering bonus money on top of the G.I. Bill and college money for enlisting in the infantry.  She was all but forgotten, as her parents had very late in life fraternal twins, Scott, Jr. and Jasmine, when Kitty was 14 years old -- she called them her little bothers.  Despite the draw of attention away from her, she loved her little bothers, and was the saddest to leave them when she left for New York and again for Army Infantry OSUT at Fort Benning, GA.  Her father, obviously disappointed that his eldest daughter did not choose the Navy, despite being offered a spot at the Naval Academy that he pulled strings for her to get, was too distracted by the twins and his new assignment on Macross Island.  Kitty acted like she didn't care for his approval, but she did want it.  Of course, what pained her most was the distance that had grown between her and her mother, Jean.  A girl always needs her mother, and their relationship had been great up until high school and the coming of the twin little bothers.  This only made it easier for Kitty to enlist and leave home behind finally.

Kitty's time in the Army Infantry would be no breeze either, but she had begun to accept that life was going to keep handing her a shit sandwich that she had to make into lemonade.  Although it was not new that woman had been accepted into the combat arms of the U.S. military, it still had its additional challenges and hurdles to overcome in the forever male dominated profession.  Gone were the days of unequal physical standards, and coming in at an even five feet in height (with the usual basic training jabs about shit stacked so high) and weighing less than a buck soaking wet, Kitty had a long and arduous physical road ahead of her.  She knew this well before enlisting, and had started on her physical transformation journey, finding a euphoric release working out like a mad woman.  Weights, running, gymnastics, boxing, whatever it took to get strong, but not manly, she did it.  She was still her mother's daughter and wanted to look good -- be strong like a man, without looking like a man.

She found a friend, a really close friend in Infantry School, who rolled alongside her in the mud -- and in bed.  There comes a time in some people's lives where they are finding themselves, and Kitty found Miki Koyama.  Kitty and Miki explored an experiment in fluid sexual orientation together that didn't last beyond their time together in training, but Kitty at least found out she could love someone, no matter what their sex or gender.  It was intense, but has since faded into just a friendship of convenience, even as ex-lovers -- the fact that Kitty caught Miki getting bent over the squad bay office desk by the platoon drill sergeant might have something to do with that falling out.  It would take some years before Kitty could love like that again, unfortunately a fortune teller would say Kitty's love line is fraught with trouble.  The relationship was doomed from the start, as her lover, Jack Chin, was also her squad leader, and that kind of fraternization is definitely frowned upon in the same chain-of-command.  Their relationship would never see the light of day anyway, as he was killed-in-action as they defended Macross Island, in the same battle that earned Kitty a Titanium Medal of Valor, which only contributes to the fact she doesn't care for the medal much at all.

Friends or allies can be found in the strangest of places.  One night while out drinking her sorrows away, she came upon a man being beaten up by a group of three seeming thugs.  Drunk and unafraid, Kitty waded into the scrape, and managed to beat the trio of thugs back long enough to run away with the apparent victim.  The victim turned out to be a small-time gangster, Luis Gonzalez, who took a liking to Kitty, although the feeling was not mutual once she figured out who he was and what he was about.  Still, they have a rather odd acquaintanceship -- Luis likes her, and no doubt wants to get her in the sack, and she despises, but tolerates Luis, since she can get "things."  So, she puts up with his cheesy advances when they have their infrequent talks, and he just seems to like her, whether he's genuine about wanting to sleep with her or not.

After her initial training, she was assigned as an 11-Mike, mechanized infantry.  While that used to mean APCs or Bradleys, in the newest version of the Army, that meant the new Destroids.  The training was much longer and required more technical aptitudes.  She made it of course, and was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, General Custard's former regiment.  There she earned her spurs and Stetson before getting deployed with the unit to Macross Island as part of the multi-national force assigned there to defend the island against AUL terrorists.  On Macross Island, she was briefly reunited with her family, and all the teenage angst had been sweat out of her, as she was much more mature when she saw her family again.  Her father still not pleased with her decision, begrudgingly gave his daughter her due respect.  Being able to see her family again brought her close with mother once again, and her two little bothers, especially since they seemed to look up to their big sissy now.  The good times would however be relatively short lived.

She inevitably would see combat action as the small island became a focal point several times over the years for AUL attacks from their more conventional forces.  In January 2006 she was part of the defense of the island from a cruise missile attack (minor battle).  Later that year in November 2006 the 4th AUL launched a major offensive on Macross Island that included an amphibious assault by AUL infantry and amphibious assault mecha where she really cut her teeth (major battle).  The fateful day that sent the Macross to the outer reaches of the solar system, Kitty had earned her Sergeant's stripes and as a team leader led her troops as they were deployed from the Daedalus to defend Macross Island (major battle).  Heavily damaged, she should conspicuous gallantry as she destroyed numerous enemy mecha while dragging three of her squad mates from harm’s way in their critically damaged Destroids back to the Daedelus, doing it three times, earning her a Silver Star.  She doesn't feel she deserved it, especially since her squad leader (and secret lover) was killed right next to her, and doesn't boast about the medal at all.  During the battle of Pluto she served as squad leader, with her squad leader having been killed in the attack on Macross Island, further proving herself in the defense of the Macross protecting her hull (major battle).  She was lucky as each time she narrowly escaped injury and death herself.  She earned her E-6/Staff Sergeant and found herself running the platoon as their most senior platoon sergeant had been killed during the Battle of Pluto.  As platoon sergeant she was torn between the paperwork of managing the platoon's training and logistics schedule with getting down and dirty with the troops.  As the re-organization of the U.N. Spacy was forming, her combat experience and acumen as a platoon sergeant, as much as she disliked it, led to her re-assignment.
