background: Born in Canadian province of Alberta at CFB Cold Lake, Tyler always felt he was born for military service. His father was a retired AVN/AVS technician who worked on Helos and as a flight engineer for SAR operations in Western Canada. His mother was Baker who worked for the local Canex operation for the CFB. The young man was raised with three other brothers in a family of military tradition going back four generation to the Royal British navy dating back to pre-world war I times. His Ancestor was a Captain who received training to be one of the first combat pilots and later a member of the first combat squadron to fly from a carrier.

He was raised in a rather strict environment where discipline was paramount. His father had pushed him to not only complete his high schooling with high merits, but also take on a mechanical trade apprenticeship as that was just good practice for what was to come.

He spent his childhood trying to impress a father that seemed cold and stoic, however his father only wanted his son to excel, to be the best at what he did. Tyler was smart, not overly intelligent and most of his accomplishments academically were brought on by simply stubborn determination. He excelled at his studies and apprenticeship but also in sports as a defensive back for the local high school football team. He earned a scholarship to Queens University in Ontario.

He was so driven to succeed from under his father's shadow, that in a weird twist his only thought pattern was to push beyond what his family expected him to be. Earning his place on the second string and applying to the Engineering and Science school for Aerospace Engineering with minor in Astrophysics, he was well on his way.

Until his 4th year of university, playing in the national championship, the Vanier Cup. Tyler's team won the game, Tyler was injured in the last defensive play of the game, winning the glory but was crippled with a spinal injury.

He was nearly devastated by the injury, but his family talked multiple specialists, they were able to find a surgeon who could mostly repair the damage. His physio would be incredibly intense, and the recovery time and injury disqualified him from the fighter pilot training program he applied for outside of university. When approached by the recruiting officer he was presented with an alternative. He was presented the option to fly support planes and SAR operations.

Tyler took the training and began take it perhaps to seriously, while his ability to walk recovered quickly, his reaction time took alot longer. He earned the callsign Bricks in flight school for two fold reasons. One because of his reaction time in training and two because of his physical stature. He was easily one of the biggest pilots around.

When he graduated from Flight school, he was planning on reapplying for Advanced Fighter Training after the two year mandatory waiting period but he was offered another option instead. Joining the Saturn Science and Research Expedition as a support and SAR pilot. After completing his masters in Spacecraft Engineering and design he joined the expedition in project Mimas and settled into his assignment on the base.

He spent his time flying support and recovery mission, his spare time working towards his Ph D in Protoculture engineering and starship design, wanting to learn and innovate current human designs to push for deep space exploration.

When the attack on Saturn hit, Mimas was hit hard. When trying to fly evac on the AS-14a, he was flying co-pilot. His lead pilot, started having a heart attack, the duo still managed to fly the shuttle and evacuees to safety while the lead was being treated. The shuttle had something of a hard landing, the flight deck crew recognized the flight style of Brick. But due to his actions in the battle he earned a commendation and long overdue promotion from 2nd Lieutenant to senior Lieutenant.
