Jerry Adkins had grown up in Vandenberg and had enjoyed spending his summers at the Wolfpine zoo.  He had started out just cleaning up after the animals and eventually moved up to feeding the animals.  When he had first hand experience with the virus, he decided he had better check out the animals.  He's been hiding in the zoo ever since.
