Damien Boneweaver is a dark-skinned Tanarukk with the blood of both orcs and dragons in his veins, the result of a necromantic experiment to breed super-soldiers for The Bleak Academy. He was the only one who survived the process, and was indoctrinated into the worship of The Dark Reaper and sent into the world to cause chaos. Then he fell in love.

She was an elf named Topaz, a druid tied to The Green Mother, and she shone with life. Damien found himself rejecting the teachings of The Dark Reaper the longer he adventured with her, and when she nearly died during a battle he called upon his divine magics to cure her, rather than let her die as his god demanded. The Dark Reaper would not be denied, so he cruelly struck him down in her place.

But The Raven Lord came to Damien and offered him a deal -- become one of his champions and aid him in destroying The Dark Reaper's works, and The Grim Man would spare him. Damien accepted, and became a Hollow, serving as The Raven Lord's emissary. He still serves to this day, leading The Grim Brotherhood against the necromancers.
