Most people lead unglamorous lives as crafters, shop owners, laborers, or farmers. Most are fairly poor, and have little skill outside their trade and no interest whatsoever in risking their necks.

Coraltoni are friendly and gregarious, with a strong independent streak and a culture that idolizes heroes. Many Coraltoni humans have fae ancestry somewhere in their bloodlines. Many pursue mercantile interests, and have become good at bartering and seeing through attempts to mislead them. Coralton has been quite prosperous in the last 200 years, and most Coraltoni are optimistic about the future.

Calyeri are bitter and taciturn, with a strong tendency to cleave to the traditions they feel made their nation great. Many Calyeri humans have dwarven ancestry, and almost all of them are fond of Sweetblood, a very strong wine made locally. Many believe that they are the true heirs of the great history of the Kelsenon Empire, as their rulers are descended from the claimant for the Imperial throne that had the strongest claim (but who ultimately lost the war). Calyeron lost a major war with Baradan just a few years ago, one that resulted in half their territory being annexed. Most Calyeri are still angry about the loss, and hostile to the Baradani.
