Penyu is a thick man, and a bit of a clod, his face is plump and cheerful.  He moves at an unhurried pace. Never seeming in a rush, his friend affectionately called him 'turtle'.

He is dressed in plain cotton clothes, with a wide jingasa (war hat) to keep off the sun and rain.  He carries a long bamboo pole, with a cloth wrapped and tied on the end that holds all he owns.
