A master horseman before gaining the ability to speak with horses of all types, Baclane is a human mercenary from the outposts of Fronela. Clad in steel scale armor bearing the sigil of Ma'at, Baclane wields a rune-etched bastard sword and shield in battle, a dragonbone bow at his shoulder.

His adventures across the worlds have had a strange effect on Baclane; he is stronger, hardier and twice as large as a normal human. Although an early follower of Ma'at, his travels took him to Asgard, where he befriended Thor, Frey and Heimdall (the giant slayers) and battled alongside them against an army of Jotun. This awakened his sword (Sleeper, also called 'Just Enough' or 'Faryamakil') and Baclane's skill and luck proclaimed him 'Jotunslayer'.
