Christian (pronounced cri-SHAHN) Bader was born on April 22, 1963 and raised on a farm near the town of Herolz, West Germany.  Situated to the south of Fulda, Herolz was smack dab in the route from East Germany to the city of Frankfurt.  Christian worked on the farm until age 21, when he was conscripted into the Bundeswehr for his mandatory service.  At the end of his term, he decided to remain in the army, the better to defend his home from possible Warsaw Pact invasion..  Though the reunification of Germany within the next two years reduced that risk, he found he enjoyed military life and continued to reenlist up until the outbreak of war.

All of Bader's sixteen years in the Bundeswehr were served in the Panzergrenadiers.  During the war, he did not see much action.  He served primarily in the rear echelon, up until the time a year ago when his unit was absorbed into the US Fifth Infantry Division (Mechanized).  Much to his chagrin, he was assigned to a field hospital as part of the security detail, rather than a combat unit.

When the hospital bugged out during the destruction of the 5^th, he caught a ride with the crew of a Bison ambulance.  Cut off from friendly lines, they have made their way to Krakow.

Bader stands 175cm (5' 9”) tall and weighs 90kg (198 lbs.).  With a receding hairline and his light brown hair going gray at the temples, he looks about ten years older than he actually is.   He is friendly enough, but his limited English makes him a little shy around the Americans and Canadian of the ambulance's crew, with the exception of the German-speaking Fenris.
