Aren, 21

Born low, Aren had a rough childhood. His father off to parts unknown and his dying when he was just three years old, Aren ended up raised by the Church. The priest who raised him was a ruthless man and Aren could expect little kindness for his first years. After reaching puberty, he became notorious for philandering the local girls and after being caught red-handed in a barn with one of the village girls, Aren ran away rather than face the priest again.

Running in to a wanderer on the road, Aren tagged along him and it turned out, the man was one of the hedge wizards on the run from the Inquisition. In two years before the man was finally caught while Aren managed to flee, he taught the boy everything he knew about magic and it was quite apparent, Aren was more than an apt pupil. Having roamed the roads, evading the Inquisition ever since, Aren now has several years of arcane studies underneath his belt. He is no archmage, but with good luck he might just make it there eventually.
