History:   Daniel did not get along with his dad. He was always gone on hunting trips with his buddies when he was not working on his old car, leaving his mom to raise. Once he was a fourteen, his dad's friend Robert showed up at the house instead, with news that his dad had been run down by a drunk driver walking home from their favourite watering hole. He told Dan if he ever needed anything, to just call him. He also gave Dan the keys to his dad's car.



Dan grew up to excel in sports, but his grades were not good enough to follow his dream of becoming a police officer, so he joined the Army and became a motor pool mechanic at Fort Bragg while getting his education. After leaving the Army, he had several potential jobs lined up, but an offer from another of his fathers friend's Neil Donaldson gave him his dream job. Dan became a county sheriff's deputy in his hometown and moved home.

With a few year's experience, Dan has become a good cop with aspirations of perhaps moving on to the big city, but stays because of his mom's poor health and the perks he gets from staying small town like knowing most using his own car to deter speeders.
