***** RACIAL KNOWLEDGE *****
These are bits anyone would know on the "Umbreon" upon doing the following Arcana checks:

No Check: Umbreons are said to be shadow spirits who can either bless or curse your sleep. Some say they even have an influence in the flux of souls through the Shadowfell. They are thought of as superstition by most and as creatures to be feared by anyone who is superstitious.

DC 15: Some Arcane circles have recruited the likes of Umbreon as Warlocks with huge success. Or at least, so it's said. Umbreon are a rarity even in their home, the Shadowfell. Fewer still visit the Prime Material Plane out of curiousity or to complete some task. Umbreon, like humans are as inclined to evil as they are to good, but survival in the Shadowfell and their dark powers have made most of them travel the road of being unaligned.

DC 20: Umbreon worship the stars, the night and darkness just as often as they worship the gods of such things. Umbreon usually don't believe in right or wrong, therefor will align themselves with just about any god regardless of the Umbreon's alignment, whether the god is good or evil. Umbreon also have a great respect for those who respect darkness, be it with fear and trembling or with love and worship. It is also known that Umbreon sweat a very weak poison and thus touching such sweat for prolonged periods could cause minor illness. Their blood, however, is deadly poison to anyone besides an Umbreon. This also leads to the obvious conclusion that Umbreon have massive resistance to poison.

DC 25: Umbreon were born from the night sky during the rift of worlds caused by the Primordials. Such a unique birth made the first Umbreon literally siblings of the Shadowfell since they came into being at the same time. Some say that Umbreon are the sentience of the Shadowfell, embodying it's thoughts and feelings. But nobody can confirm this. This seemingly godlike race are not godlike at all, but rather just of a different origin than most.

Character description/personality:
Reverie is a walking shadow with glowing designs as if a physical representation of the night sky and it's beauty. Reverie is a little shy of daylight and prefers the night, but traverses the day most times anyhow in order to offer her assistance to the day dwellers. Reverie loves poetry with a passion and is constantly writing poems in her head about her experiences and the people she meets. She talks in rhythm and rhyme as often as possible to keep her poetry skill up, but is quite capable of talking normal when it's needed (Such as avoiding offending a king or some such). Reverie also believes in teaching love to all, even her enemies if they will listen. In addition to all this, Reverie tries to avoid the law or anarchy, trying to stay evenly balanced and not allow either crusaders of good or the purest evil have any influence in how she behaves.

Combat tactics:
Reverie is ready to aid her allies when needed and her combat style reflects her desire to help. This means her strategy is to play along with whatever her allies do. However, Reverie does prefer keeping her distance from enemies who would otherwise be within range of attacking her. She will often fire and step back. Of course, like any Warlock worth their weight, Reverie will start the encounter with cursing and continue to curse until every enemy is cursed. Rather than using her Dreadful Word at the beginning of the encounter, she will reserve it for when her allies are ready to attack the most powerful enemy in the encounter, especially if an enemy just fell to 0 HP. If it's an especially powerful enemy that could otherwise spell doom for the party, Reverie uses Dread Star right after another enemy drops to 0 HP, follows up with using Dreadful Word and then attempts to intimidate the target. When that fails, she rushes far away to continue her nasty Eldritch Blasts.

Character background:
Reverie grew up in the Shadowfell with parents who cared for her. Her background was as normal as it can get in a place like the Shadowfell. Reverie always had a love for poetry, but it didn't really become aparent until later in her childhood when she began finally writing poems on a regular basis.

Reverie's love for the stars was both lesser and greater than that of other Umbreon. On one hand, she did not worship the stars like many Umbreon. On the other hand, she felt an intimate connection with them and cared for them like the stars were somehow related to her by blood. She studied them both philisophically and scientifically, understanding things like astronomy and astrology. Of course, the culture of her kind enforced astrology more, but while Reverie learned the correct lip service for all that, she also began carefully asking questions to the night sky such as "can you hear me?" and "is anyone out there?"

These questions eventually garnered a response. Reverie had a dream. It was clearer than even present experiences feel or ever will feel for the rest of Reverie's life. In the dream, she learned of the star who was giving her this dream. It told her of the other stars, the gods, secrets of the earliest years of the universe and many other things. As Reverie woke, she pleaded with the star to give her more dreams or visits, asking what the star desired in return.

It wasn't long before Reverie made a pact with the star, vowing to use the knowlegde it gave her for the star's purposes. How much the star's desires and Reverie's match are anyone's guess (You could always ask in RP), but Reverie seems fully satisfied with the deal...
