Left on an orphanage doorstep as a child, young Mercy wandered through life looking for purpose, bereft of meaning in her existance.  She took out her anger and frustration on the world that didn't seem to need her.
That all changed when a powerful man, Enlu Tarsonis, found her and offered her thirsting soul the divine sustanance of his leadership.  Now, as Enlu's girl friday, Mercy has found her place in the universe.
Now, she no longer takes out her rage on innocent people.
