Petra's appearance is largely in keeping with her Frisian/Germanic lineage. The defined features, honey blonde hair, amber eyes and tan complexion are nothing at odds with it.

However, a closer inspection makes plain their is a confluence of some Elvish ancestry. One can see it in the definition of cheekbones, tilt to the brows, and moderate points to the ears, once her hair is pushed back from them. It is also visible in her general grace, and well coordinated movements.  She stands just a little under five and a half foot tall; a fairly average height for human woman or half-elf, if a bit under for the generally taller Germanics.

But there would seem to be little influence of the Elven culture, about her. Her garb, demeanor, the way she braids her hair and speech all say Germanic, and human.  Religion further supports this - from her neck dangles a collection of five small sigils: Eostre, Freyja, Ullr, All-Father Woden, and his wife, Frigga. It is Eostre whose sigil occupies the central position though; not the All-Father, as some might expect.

Brief association with Petra is often enough to discover that she is an experienced traveler, having wound the roads to Burgundy from her native Frisia.  On this journey, the white-maned, sorrel mare Anbruch ("Dawn", in the Germanic) was her companion, as well as the Frisian-made composite bow that is her favored weapon. She arrived in Lingones to perform a duty she was surprised to receive - but most committed to fulfilling.

It was to take a backseat, however, to events she could have hardly imagined for herself, at the side of Heolstor Strang.
