Salen stands 5'6" tall, very tall for an elf, and although noticeably muscular and athletic he retains that race's characteristic litheness and agility. His long golden hair hangs to his shoulders, while his amber eyes regard all with what appears to be amusement.

Salen is one of the King's Own Riders, the elite hippogriff cavalry of Geneva. A skilled rider and swordsman, he nevertheless lives life to the full, and milks his notoriety for all it is worth. Despite all that, he is a loyal companion and friend, and never shirks from a challenge.

Although it is not well-known, Salen is the eldest of the Soulwater children, and proud of his siblings' successes.
