Frank Wayland

Frank Wayland
Mid-sixties

Height: 6' 1"
Hair: Gray  --  Eyes: Dark Brown

The Liar's Club is a dive bar in Lincoln Park. It's hard to say which has the more storied history -- the bar or it's owner, Frank Wayland. The young people that hang out at Liar's see Frank as an aging hippie who managed to survive the sixties without frying his brain. He drives a classic Harley and it's rumored that he used to ride with the Hells Angels. There's another rumor that he and Joe Walsh (of the Eagles) used to hang out together at Liar's in their youth. He's got a special forces tattoo from his time in Viet Nam. Frank doesn't talk about Nam too much, but he's always been a man of few words.

He's got a slight limp that he acquired sometime after the war, but he's never told the story of what happened. Frank has said, "If you live long enough, and don't play it safe, you're bound to earn a few scars." Frank lived most of his life on the road, drifting from town to town. It was a free and uncomplicated existence. When asked why he finally settled down and bought a bar, Frank said, "I didn't choose this place, it chose me." There's a story that he actually won the bar in a wild bet, but nobody know's the details, or if that's even true.

Frank doesn't care what the color of your skin is, which side of the tracks you were born on, who you sleep with, or even if your DNA is human. As long as you don't cause any trouble, you are welcome in his bar. Most people behave themselves at Liar's. Maybe it's because they don't want to ruin one of the few places where everyone is free to be themselves, or maybe it's because they believe those rumors that Frank used to be a Golden Gloves boxer. Frank never really acknowledges all the rumors. When asked, all he'll say about himself is, "The last woman who loved me said I drink too much, and talk too little. I guess that's about right."
