Star Wars Rebirth

Star Wars Episode VII
Rebirth

Forty years have passed since the Battle of Endor and the fall of the Galactic Empire, and the Republic has finally shown signs of recovery after years of regional fragmentation and civil war.  The galaxy’s denizens view the reconstituted Jedi Order—now a decentralized and depoliticized organization of scattered Knights operating in pairs or small groups—with something approaching a mixture of awe and suspicion.  In the abandoned rebel base in the Massassi ruins on Yavin IV, younglings are meticulously trained under the watchful eye of Master Luke Skywalker to hone their connection to the Force using the same techniques Obi Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda passed on to him, in order that the next generation of Knights can take up the mantle as the galaxy’s guardians of peace.

Two such younglings have completed their years of training at the Academy and are ready to begin the next phase in their journey to becoming full-fledged Jedi Knights.  These young woman are about to begin their training as the Padawan learners of two of Master Skywalker’s first disciples, Master Mattan Abiram, himself a renowned warrior and archeologist, and Master Jun Kana Mar, a scholar and historian who up until a couple years ago served as the head librarian at the Academy.  Between them they are already responsible for having trained twelve worthy young Jedi and are thought of as perhaps the very best teachers of the Jedi arts in the Order.

With little more than the clothes on their backs, the two girls race across the galaxy aboard the smuggler ship Spectre toward the dangerous Outer-Rim world on which Masters Abiram and Kana Mar are diligently conducting an archeological dig.  The infamous Mashak system, with its twin Suns and dangerous Fire Storms, is known for its mysterious ruins and the traditionalist Noble Houses that mine the planet for the galaxy’s only source of the extremely potent hallucinogen Red Spice.  It is also the crash site of one of the ancient Sith Empire's last known battle cruisers, the Abbadon, and its precious cargo, an innocuous artifact known only as The Ark, both of which were lost from history during the Great Hyperspace Wars over 5,000 years ago and recently uncovered by Master Abirim and his outgoing Padawan, Aeryn Akura.
