Kailao was raised by the Tumin family. He was adopted by them when he was three and was schooled in everything the involved becoming a priest at the temple. Once he reached the age of nineteen his schooling was finished and he was assigned the job of head priest at the other shark temple on the other side of the island. His relationship with the Tanouye family changed after a year as head priest. He became distant with the family. His personality changed as well. Instead of being free and open, he became controlling and closed off. He needs to feel in control of his surroundings and by doing so took complete control over the other temple
