Johen Slate, a new magistrate for the city of Cherak, is a tall Northerner with blonde hair and blue eyes. He has a slight frame with only a requisite amount of muscle for most mundane work, such as a day spent chopping wood. Johen's eyes are always burning with some intrigue and passion. He has a habit of narrowing his eyes whenever he finds something particularly interesting, whilst stroking the pointed patch of beard extending forth from his chin or twisting his mustache.

Johen often wears robes even when he is not acting as magistrate. Wealthy beyond his station, Johen is not modest and has no issue showing off his wealth.
