Often mistaken for a shorter human, Fintan is somewhat of a anomaly as a half-breed. For the most part this is because--despite his father's disapproval--he wears his beard short and therefore is less distinct as a descendant of Dwarven blood. He does this as he believes the longer the beard, the easier it is for an enemy to use it against him. He also has his mother's vibrant emerald eyes and wavy white-fire hair, which contrast against his rusty tan skin. Overall, Fintan's exotic appearance and stocky build makes him fair to look at.

Fintan is a chaotic storm of personalities that can be both likable and arduous at the same time. The intellect he inherited from his mother gives him a wit and insight that makes him appear amusing and interesting, yet combined with his father's impulsive nature can be turned into a crashing tide of brutal honesty. It is that individualistic will that makes him unpredictable, though is regulated to some extent by his Warblade discipline and drive to give glory to his family's name. Battle too calms his mind from such distractions and is why he seeks it.
