Name: Victoria Black

Nickname: Tori or Lady Blackbird

Gender: Female

Age: 23

Profession: Victoria is a special effects artist specialising in the Horror and Fantasy genres. She is also known as one of the best costume designers in Hollywood. She is known in the industry as Lady Blackbird.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Hair: Victoria's hair changes shades and styles at her whim. She has been known to dye her locks anywhere from cotton candy pink to fluro red and anywhere on the spectrum in-between. She is not against wearing wigs or theatrical hats and headdresses. She has a flair for the dramatic.

Eyes: Hazel

Distinguishing Marks: Victoria doesn't have any tattoo's but she is known to draw and paint on her skin giving the appearance that she has been pricked. She is always seen with either one or two little red hearts painted under her eyes. These hearts are a symbol to her and she never goes a day without them. If asked about them she will share their very special meaning but this is not information she will give unprompted. These hearts along with her glittering red lips seem to be her signature.

General Appearance: Victoria is eccentric. She looks like no one else and she likes it that way. Some might think her mad but this is not an insult in her opinion. To be mad is to be free from conventional thought. Victoria likes being mad and she likes dressing unconventionally. 99% of the woman's closet was born in her mad little mind and then sewn by her own hands. She has a love for lace and ruffles but she never uses them in traditional ways. Victoria is bit of a hoarder when it comes to fabric scraps. She loves making dresses out of vintage materials and then tying the whole project together with a sweeping cloud of tulle. Victoria is madly in love with all things Victorian. She is content to spend her days corseted, bustled and bowed but she sees no reason why she can't wear a pair of thigh high leather lace up boots at the same time. Victoria incorporates elements of the Victorian era, theatrics and burlesque into her unique and stunning fashion signature.

With pale skin, hazel eyes and full red lips, Victoria casts quite an image. She has been fascinated with make-up since she was a child and through her younger years she spent many, many hours sitting in front of the mirror practicing. Of course the make-up she wears now differs greatly from the simple smudge of mascara and puff of blush that she used to wear. Victoria will often dust her face to lighten her already pale flesh. She finds the contrast of white skin against dark eyes and blood red lips to be something truly beautiful. It could be said that Victoria spends a great deal of her time playing dress up. She sees nothing wrong with this. She plays dress up at home and at work. It's why people pay her the big bucks. Her imagination is limitless.

Standing at only 5'4 Victoria boosts her height with heels and platform boots. She has the classic hourglass figure that most women seem to crave. A small waist with womanly breasts and full hips. She has timeless beauty. Victoria currently has no body modifications but she is fascinated by those that do. Art takes many forms and she has always chosen to show her art though her fashion but with the people she keeps at her side as friends, she is likely to be pulled into the dark inky world sooner rather than later.

Victoria's look is beyond quirky and she knows that she commands second, third and sometimes fourth looks but it's who she is. She stands by her motto. Why be boring?

Personality: Victoria Black is weird. She will proudly admit this. Though her upbringing was relatively normal all things considered she has taken a definite slant toward the bizarre in her later years. In contrary to her look Victoria is a very positive person. Though she has made a name for herself creating some of the most horrifying monsters known to modern cinema, her head is often in the clouds. She believes in magic and fairies and doesn't care that people think she's daft for doing so. Victoria loves to laugh and is rarely seen without a smile on her face but that is not to say she is without her concerns. Victoria was exposed to the tragic sorrow of those with mental illness at an early age. She knows the suffering it causes to not only those afflicted but those who love them as well. Victoria struggles on a daily basis with the fear and worry that she too will succumb to this terrifying and crestfallen world. In part she is in denial. Refusing to take the necessary steps needed to catch this illness before it strikes her down. In other ways her fear is rewarding for it forces her to live every moment with passion.

Victoria is a sympathetic and understanding young woman. She knows that people are not always what they appear and so she attempts to get to know people before making judgements. Of course there are those who simply cast to large of a bad first impression that she has been known to write them off entirely. This is not something she does often but she tends to trust her instincts. Her gut coupled with her heart has never lead her astray yet.

Like everyone, Victoria has a dark side. Her twisted sense of humour and ability to visualise and create the macabre is unique. It's what makes her so good at her job. It's also what opens her up to the often unseen side of life. She owns a small collection of taxidermy pets which people often don't understand. She finds their stillness and their beauty captivating. They remind her how fleeting life is and the majesty of creation. Victoria is sweet. Love her and she'll love you back. Did I mention she likes to bite?

"When I am good I am very very good but when I am bad I am fucking gorgeous!"

Sexual Preferences: Open

History: Born in Los Angeles as the only child of Emily and Lincoln Black, Victoria had a relatively happy childhood. She was 3 and half when she first started noticing the differences between her Mother and the Mothers of her friends. Every other day her Mother would experience 'episodes' where she would rock and mutter complaining that the walls were breathing too loudly and that if she didn't put out the fire, they were all going to drown. It never made any sense to Victoria but she worked out quite quickly that if she sat with her Mother during these times and stroked her hand, her Mother would eventually calm down.

Emily Black was diagnosed with severe schizophrenia when she was 26. Through medication and therapy she was able to function on a relatively normally level, until her Daughter was born. Though nobody has been able to explain why, Victoria's birth caused her Mothers mental illness to flare up in dramatic and devastating ways. This is something that Victoria stills feels guilty about. It was not uncommon for her Mother to throw cups of water on her Daughter unexpectedly, believing that she was putting out a fire that nobody saw but her. Victoria recalls days where during their daily errands they would be forced to make a detour to the train tracks. She has memories of sitting huddled under the bridge in fear while her Mother screamed at the trains passing by. She would explain this to her Daughter in her more lucid moments as the only way to drown out the voices.

It was not an easy life but there were good days just as there bad. Her Father was always there for her in times when her Mother simply couldn't be as were her friends. Victoria Black grew up with a surrogate family in that of her friends. The two young girls would spend hours rushing around the backyard, Ariel in her yellow tutu, Victoria in pink. They grew close as children as even closer as teens. Victoria would often spend weekends at the Stoker house, giving her Father a break to recover mentally himself while Mrs Black was in treatment. It was draining on the whole family but they have been and still are committed.

It was clear that her Mother loved her very much and never meant her any harm either physically or emotional. It tore her apart to know how frightened her Daughter becomes during her severe psychotic moments. Victoria grew up however with a deep understanding and respect for people that she has only her Mother to thank for. Her Mother encouraged her creative and bizarre side making sure her Daughter knew that how the world sees you doesn't have to be who you are. This might play some role in explaining why Victoria is the way she is today. What scares Victoria however is that she knows schizophrenia runs in the family. What if her bizarre quirks aren't just personality but something more disturbing?

At 17 Victoria took her love for Horror movies to the next level and was taken in under the wing of American actor, writer, composer, producer and illustrator Terrance Zdunich. Under his tutelage she learnt more about the horror world and made many connections that helped lift her from a nobody to somebody worth working with. Victoria was blessed to be a key member in the team of special effects artist for Terrance Zdunich film 'Repo! The Genetic Opera'. When he was ready to make his next film, she was the first one he called and not only was Victoria put in charge of all special effects make-up and many of the key costumes for 'The Devils Carnival' but she was also talked into playing the role of The Painted Doll. Acting had never been something she had thought about doing but when asked by the man who had taught her so much, she found she couldn't say no and she was surprised to find that she enjoyed it. Not enough to switch her passions but if the right role came along again, she would offer it some serious thought.

Victoria Black's studio is now one of the leaders for specials effects and costumes. She is highly sought after and very well paid. She has also been known to be booked by stars for her skill with make-up. While she is no normal make-up artist, when a star desires a look that is a little more than the usual, they come to her. She doesn't just make monsters.

The glittering world of Hollywood has its draws and its perks but recently Victoria has found that she's craving a slower pace of life. She fears her creativity is being stifled and she needs to let it breath. It was a simple choice to pack up her things and move to Breckenridge. She is still working of course. There was no way her little vacation was going to stop her from doing what she loves. She can't of course be on set painting faces and applying prosthetics but she is making costumes for some of the main stars in the film adaptation of 'The Angle' by Hans Christian Andersen.
