PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Gender: Female

Age: Girl has no idea how old she is. She appears to be in her early 20’s.

Hair: Girl has long wet tendrils of glittering blue.

Eyes: Her eyes are haunting. She has blue/grey iris but it is the colouring around her eyes that draws you in. A blush of pink and purple is permanently marked around her wide eyes into her skin.

Distinguishing Marks: It goes without saying that the most unique and peculiar thing about Girl is her long blue scaled tale.

General Appearance: The first thing one would notice about her is that she always appears wet. Her long blue hair hangs in tendrils and twisted locks; cascading down her back, over her shoulders and ending bellow her shapely hips. Her skin glistens with glassy water droplets that sparkle in both the sun and the moonlight. When she does rise above water level, it is shockingly obvious that she is not human but what one might call a mermaid. A long, strong tail of marine blue grows from the woman’s waist where traditionally, in other species, legs would be. Her scales are pearlescent and stunningly beautiful to behold. Her tail is, as myth and legend state, scales, similar but not identical to that on a fish. It begins just under her bellybutton and flays out at the end in a beautiful fan. Continuing with the marine blue theme, her womanly breasts are speckled in the same scales. She is hauntingly beautiful. A rarity, an oddity.


ABOUT

Personality: Shy, timid, frightened. For as long as she can remember, Girl has lived on her own in the ocean. She has no concept of social protocols. On the rare occasion she would see a human she has avoided them as anyone would avoided a predator. She does not understand where she came from or who she is. She knows little about the differences between Coras and Aeros. She is cautiously curious about the world outside her ocean. She does not trust the humans and sadly she has never been able to differentiate one from the other so any human is seen as a threat to her.

On a more positive note, Girl is happy most of the time. She spends her days swimming and chasing fish. She plays on the rocks when she is feeling bold but hides in the deep when she is scared. Girl raised herself. It is truly a miracle she survived. She takes care of her own needs and seldom worries. She is free to do as she pleases without the worries of everyday life. Occasionally she will feel lonely but it only takes a glimpse at the world above to realize that she is better off on her own. She does not understand why people fight and hurt each other. It could be said that she doesn’t understand a whole lot.

HISTORY

Background: She was a mistake. Girl was created in secret. She was mixed up in a petri dish. The first experiment in combining human DNA with that of a fish. What her Makers hoped to achieve by doing such a thing, Girl doesn’t know. It is assumed that they failed in their endeavour however because the experiment was discarded. Girl was hurled into the murky ocean with no regard for her life. She was left to die but she didn’t. How she survived is mystery. She grew up, she grew stronger and learned to thrive in her underwater world. The day she discovered the humans on Coras was a frightening one. Girl watched them from a far. She was scared but a little curious. What were they were and why did they look so different? Over the years she has watched them and learnt from them. She was careful about where she surfaced and how long she stayed. She didn’t want to be seen. She feared what they might do to her and she was right to fear.

Just a day ago Girl was captured. Pulled up in ratty nets she was dragged aboard a ship and gawked at in pure bewilderment and shock. The Captain of the ship had never seen anything like her in his life and he wrestled with the decision of what to do. His family was starving and surely such a rare creature would fetch a high price of Aeros. He made the choice to sell her but it didn’t take long before he grew uncomfortable by her stare. Girl's haunting eyes stared at the man in fear for her life until he blindfolded her and handed her over in exchange for his riches. His family will eat. Where Girl was being taken, she doesn’t know.
