Given Name: Willow Wick

Birth Date: August 31st

Age: 20 years old

Sexuality: Straight

Cultural Heritage: American

Home Town: Las Vegas, Nevada

Theme Song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd5dcjXzuGk

Pet: Willow owns a silver ferret named Fizz whom she wholeheartedly believes shares his soul with that of her dearly departed Great-Grandfather. There was never any question that when she moved onto the Brakebills Campus, Fizz was coming with her. Truthfully he's adjusted quite well though he does occasionally throw a fit when she tries to leave her Dorm Room. It's for this reason that he is often curled up in the bottom of her bag during classes.

Occupation: First and foremost, Willow is a Student at Brakebills University. She also owns and runs a small, business where she creates enchanted beauty products. Truth be told this began as a home business where she would sell organic body scrubs and lip tints but as she discovered her magic, she's branched out a little but now sells strictly to Magicians. Willow calls her business 'Abracapothecary'. A humorous mix of the words 'Abracadabra' and 'Apothecary'. She is also an Instagram Model.

THE MAGICAL

Year: First Year

Discipline: Psychic Kid

Specialty: Telepathy

THE PHYSICAL

Hair: Long, pastel pink tresses hang to around the middle of Willow's back in soft, natural waves. Though she was born with the light blonde locks of her Mother, Willow has been dying her hair since she was 11. She has gone through a myriad of phases including shaved sides, pixie cuts and curls but these days she prefers to experiment with color over style. If it's been on Instagram, she's probably tried it. Over the years Willow has even set a few trends. The pastel pink tone that seems to suit her so well however, she has been sporting for the last year and a half.

Eyes: Large, crystal blue eyes framed by thick black lashes.

Height: 5'4

Physical Description: Willow stands at 5'4 which could be said to be rather short and technically it is but for Willow, somehow it works. There is so much life and spark in the young woman that her height or lack thereof never seems to keep her down. She has a theory that the 'small dog syndrome' where tiny dogs have loud barks and obnoxious personalities extends to humans as well. Not that she would say that she was obnoxious but she has found that the shorter she feels, the bigger she acts.

Willow was born with her Mothers fair skin and golden hair. In fact, she has her Mothers crystal blue eyes too which begs the questions, what if any attributes did she take from her Father? Well physically not a lot but that doesn't mean she isn't still very much a Daddies Girl. She took his name at the very least. Well, a variation of it. Side by side with a photographer of her Mother however, even Grandma would have a hard time telling them apart. Katie Wick was and still is a great beauty. She has a light that shines from within when she smiles and she passed this light onto her Daughter.

Willow's fashion sense is quirky but cute. A friend once described Willow as 'being made from bubblegum and shadows.' It's a fair enough description. Willow loves everything kitsch and girly. She loves pink, lace and high heel shoes but none of the things that she loves are ever worn in a predictable fashion. Willow is a little bit sexy, a little bit punk, a little porcelain doll and a lot of personality! She can squeeze her curves into a corset when she wants to or don a pair of leather pants and tie it all together with a hand sewn halo of wildflowers. Willow is weird and she's utterly okay with that.

Distinguishing Features: For starters Willow has been dying her hair since she was 11. She's gone through the rainbow phase and the galaxy trend. Surprisingly, a lot of the time she tends to do the work of transforming herself, by herself. At first, it was a process of dyes, brushes, clips and a whole lot of time but with the discovery of Magic came an easier way. More often than not, Willow will now use self-created and homemade products or spells to achieve her desired look. She's talented when it comes to hair and make-up and whether it's the Muggle way or the Magic way, she likes to pass on her knowledge to others through her little business 'Abracapothecary'.

Both her left and right ears have been pierced multiple times. Ordinarily, Willow will wear simple silver studs in each of these piercings but she has been known to occasionally splash-out and accessorize with something more flashy. Her tongue is pierced as are both her nipples though these little jewels are never seen by anyone but lovers.

Willow's only other distinguishing marks, which many would say were her most distinguishing marks are her tattoos. Willow is a lover of that naughty little buzz that you get when you go under the needle. She loves art and pop culture and combining the two as a unique story on her skin is a passion that she can't shake. She's a geek at heart and it shows on her skin. Willow is quite heavily inked but each and every one seems to be chosen and applied with a soft hand. Willow doesn't look intimidating. Her tattoos are bubblegum sweet. When it comes to her ink Willow will describe her style as 'a hyper-realistic rendering of reflective light, color and magic.' In reality and in far less romantic terms Willow has tattoos of everything from My Little Pony to that 80's heartthrob David Bowie from Labyrinth.

THE EMOTIONAL

Personality: Willow is a special little creature. Born into a household full of talent and big personalities she has always been encouraged to be unapologetically herself. She is the kind of woman that embraces life. She loves deeply and any friend she makes is a friend for life. People can often find her hyper personality and eccentricities hard to deal with or take seriously but Willow is just as committed to her dreams and her goals as anyone else.

It should be noted that Willow is not just one shade of glitter. She has her darker moments, her melancholy days. During her younger years, School wasn't easy. Kids are honest, brutally so and they didn't take too kindly to the girl with the colored hair at first. Willow was different. Not only did she look different but she acted it too. Willow was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when she was 5. Though she is high functioning, the label alone brought on its share of problems. She didn't fit in with the popular girls and the sporty girls didn't like her. She was different and different was a magnet for criticism in public school USA.

Like a lot of kids, Willow was bullied. It took her a while to get it. To understand why people hated her. For a while, the abuse got to her and Willow became sullen and withdrawn but she found her supporters, her cheer squad and though they didn't block the Haters and the venomous use of the word 'Freak', they made them easier to ignore.

Of course, that's the dark side to her story and Willow has never liked to wallow in the darkness for too long. Ignoring the bullies, Willow made friends that she keeps to this day. With them, she can be cheeky and boisterous. She is sarcastic, fun loving and more than willing to join in on the mischief. Willow opens up to her friends. They see her for who she really is because she trusts them enough to let down her walls. Willow does have walls. She is cautious who she lets into her inner circle and her trust and love is hard-won but once won, it's for life.

Positive - Willow seems to always be sporting a smile. She wears it like an accessory and it seems to be as much a part of her physical aesthetic as her gorgeous eyes or pastel hair. Willow hasn't found many reasons to be sad in life. She isn't blind to the world or the troubles that happen around her. She is sympathetic to other people's problems and she will help wherever she can. It takes a lot to get her down. She isn't sickeningly sweet or happy to the point of creeping people out. Willow just loves her life and why shouldn't she? She has a killer family, amazing friends, she's loved and been loved and life is magical. Literaly, Magical! Though Willow didn't grow up with Magic, well not in the sense that Brakebills would use the word, she's a Magician none the less! There is always a reason to look on the bright side.

Stupefied - Willow is bad in a crisis. It can't be helped. She can overcome a thousand little things. She will help you find answers and she can make decisions. She sees a problem and she will actively work to fix it but when something bad happens, something truly earth shattering, Willow freezes. She has a fear that in making choices, in taking the lead she might lead herself or others into a worse situation than the one they were just in. It's a fear of failure and sometimes it's paralyzing. The dark and the death of life can overwhelm her at times. She will eventually blink, breath, move, act but she may need a little help and encouragement or if worse comes to worse, a slap.

Reckless - Okay, so she doesn't always think things through. Willow has been known to take risks from time to time. She doesn't always follow the rules. In her younger years, she has helped the odd mate cheat on an exam and she is known for sneaking into movie theaters. She once broke into a vending machine and there was that case of bad judgment when she conned a major supermarket chain into mailing her entire crate of salt and vinegar chips. Of course, if she gets caught she knows there will be consequences but at the time, she doesn't think about them. If she wants to do something, go somewhere, say something, kiss someone or hand raise a raccoon in her Dorm, she probably will.

Romantic - Willow Wick is a true romantic. She loves love. Stars are magical, sunsets are art and kisses in the rain make her toes curl. Willow idolizes her Parents marriage. She has seen from birth how very much in love they are and she wants that. She wants her own fairytale ending. Now that's not to say that she is ready for marriage. She simply knows that falling in love, getting married and starting a family are all things that she wants down the line. Despite having her head in the clouds though, Willow knows that it won't be easy. Not even her Parents have gotten through their lives together unscathed but nothing, whether it's love or art or happiness, nothing worth having comes easily but it's always worth fighting for.

Quirky - Willow is unique. She always has been and while being a little different growing up in a big city may have initially made Willow shrink and wish to conform, she now understands the gift that being quirky and different is. Willow is her own person. Now that's not to say that she is always confident. She is still young after all. She has her days where she shuts down and wishes that she was like everyone else but in the end, she always seems to fall back to the understanding that yeah, she's all messed up and slightly twisted but who says she's sick and just not gifted? Willow likes that's she a weirdo.

Fussy - Willow has a mild, non-diagnosed, really just annoying case of OCD. It's a symptom of her Aspergers. She's fussy. When it comes to the little things she needs them like she likes them. She's particular about her appearance and will redo her make-up several times over if she doesn't feel it's right. It's not vanity, she's just particular. Even on the days when she ventures out au-natural, she has a particular way in which she gets ready. It's routine. She likes things neat. She's been known to stand in Target and rotate the stock so that all the labels are facing the same way. Willow's fussiness bleeds a little into all aspects of her life but mostly people just roll their eyes at her. It's just who she is. She knows what she likes and how she likes it and while she won't throw a tantrum if something unbalances her particular little life, she will get a little fidgety and anxious. It's just who she is.

THE BIOGRAPHICAL

History: To tell Willow's story, we must first tell the tale as old as time, the love story that is her Parents story. Katie and William. It was kismet.

William Wick's Family have been in the entertainment industry ever since the 40's. His great Grandfather is credited as the inventor of the illusion called 'The Mismade Girl'. The name Wick and stage magic have been synonymous for generations. The Wick's style is unique and they have tricks and illusions that have been passed down from Magician to Magician within the Family. Thier ultimate goal has always been to entertain but also to make their audience believe. The suspension of disbelief and the acceptance that magic is real is what you will find when you see them perform. Some people believe that there is more to what they do than slight of hand and masterful illusions. That perhaps there is a supernatural element to their act but honestly, without breaking the Magicians code, what William and those that came before he did is nothing supernatural. They are Human Men and Woman with enormous talent and a hell of a lot of showmanship. Truly, it wasn't until Willow that the Wick Family learned that magic, true magic was real.

William has been practicing the family trade since he was old enough to hold a deck of cards. He didn't truly break out on his own until he was 17 however. For years he had been performing his magic tricks on YouTube and flooding Vine with videos of his illusions. He had amassed a following of thousands including one young lady who would plaster her bedroom walls with printed out photos of her favorite Magician. Will was hot and incredibly talented. None of this David Copperfield shit or that wannabe Chris Angel. Will Wick was the real deal and Katie Loman was in love. It wouldn't be until the pair were both into their early 20's that they would actually meet in person. William Wick had broken into stage magic like the Wick's before him and he was making his rounds on the major talk shows and headlining at festivals. Katie was the gorgeous blonde standing in the front row with the handmade glittered sign and feathers in her hair. It was love at first sight.

Within a year they were married and shortly after they were expecting. They wasted no time in setting up their family. A little house was purchased in Las Vegas that would over time be renovated, restored and made their own. Will had been scheduled to perform a series of shows on the famous Strip. He would play to thousands and Katie would be his Assistant. It had always been her dream and to be partners with her partner was more than she ever could have hoped for. Their talent was indisputable, their style, completely unique. The chemistry between the pair wasn't faked or exaggerated with slutty costumes or melodramatic theatrics. They were in love and the whole world could see it. Magic and love walked hand in hand. It was a perfect mix.

Willow was born on the 31st of August and instantly she became the apple of her Fathers eye. The Wick's balanced work and family as best they could. Some nights they would sit together as a family at the dinner table and talk about their day while other nights Willow would sit on the edge of the stage, legs dangling gleefully as she watched her parents rehearsal. Her coloring books, crackers and juice box held no wonder in comparison to the world of magic that she was emersed in.

William Wick took great pride in teaching his Daughter his trade. Whether she chose to become a magician herself or a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker, it didn't bother her Parents. Willow was raised to be what she wanted to be, follow her heart and smile away if for no other reason than that it confused people.

At 4 Willow could pull a rabbit from a hat. At 8 she had developed her slight of hand and was growing skilled at card tricks. These were not her only skills though they did make her rather popular at parties. Willow discovered at a young age that she was light on her feet like her Mother. While her Father taught her magic, her Mother taught her dance. Willow had a great childhood. She lived in a vibrant, lively city and despite the issues that soon developed at school, she was happy.

Her Aspergers never really affected her like the Doctors thought it might. They warned her Parents that she would be different, reserved and more than likely antisocial but they were wrong. Willow wholeheartedly believes that she has her Parents to thank for her ability to overcome her diagnosis. They taught her how to live bravely and interact with the world around her in the best way possible. It wasn't always easy but Willow has learned the skills that wouldn't have normally come naturally to her. By the time she was 16, her Asbergers was a label on a school form and nothing more. It didn't define her. She wouldn't allow it.

The older she grew, the more comfortable Willow became in her skin. Performing with her family on stage only helped to bolster her self-esteem. Her Father's popularity had soared and by this point in Willow's life, he was headlining in Vegas six nights a week. Occasionally, she'd join him and her Mother on stage, assisting, performing. Willow was a good magician. She was charismatic, confident and she had all the skills. People responded to her and she had to admit, she did like the spotlight but it wasn't her passion. While there was certainly an element of innovation and creativity to Stage Magic, Willow wanted something more. She didn't need the fame. Honestly, the older she grew, the more she longed for a quieter life. The fame that her Father and Mother had trickled down to her. It always had and it was nice having fans but she was approaching the point in her life when her Mother had found her Father. Things were just beginning. Fame, fortune, if that was meant for her, it came further down the line.

It was more than likely that she was planning her life too tightly. She had no way of predicting what was to come. She'd had some Boyfriends but none of them had been accompanied by that feeling of 'The One'. Willow believed in The One. She wasn't so foolish to think that in life, we are given just one The One but she didn't believe in the concept of destined love but then, Willow believed in a lot of things that most people would find crazy.

Willow believes in Fairies and Aliens. She's obsessed with Folklore and if asked, she'll tell you all about the time she came face to face with a ghostly apparition. Willow is incredibly open-minded but she isn't naive. The Supernatural, the weird and the wonderful has been something she has been studying since she was old enough to read. Willow has always seen the world in a unique light. She finds odd things beautiful and she sees merit and worth in lost causes. This is probably why she spends so much time looking into the darker corners of life. She is looking for something unique, something weird and special. Willow spends a great deal of her time looking for somebody like herself.

She was 20 before she found it. That thing that she had always felt like her life was missing. That chance to meet other people just as weird and wonderful as herself. It should be mentioned that for as long as Willow can remember, she'd heard a voice. It wasn't something she ever spoke about. Honestly, while she kept no secrets from her Parents, this was one exception to the rule. She didn't need a reason to feel crazier. She didn't want to disappoint them. It couldn't be denied though. All her life, whether she was asleep or awake, Willow heard a whisper. One word was all the voice ever said. They never tried to engage in conversation, they never answered questions. It was one word and it is the reason she is at Brakebills.

'Follow' was the whispered word. For most of her life, Willow ignored it. One day however tuning out that voice became impossible. Never had it shouted so loudly and never had Willow ever felt such a determination to obey. Nothing had ever felt as important as following that voice and so Willow made one of the hardest decisions she had ever made. She packed up her things, put Fizz in a carry cage, kissed her parent's goodbye and she left her home. In a little yellow VW, Willow followed the voice. The closer she got, the clearer it became. It wasn't until she reached New York however that she got some desperately needed answers.

For this epic quest, Willow's final destination was a basement door. To say that Willow was disappointed was an understatement. What she was expecting, she honestly didn't know but she had hoped for more than rusted metal, graffiti and the lingering smell of urine. Still, with one final leap of faith, Willow opened that door and was greeted not by dust and decay but by sunshine, trees and a smiling young Man who told her, is it really any surprise, to follow. She had an Exam to take.
