The third son of a minor noble family from Gisors.  His father had no money to pay for his training as a knight, but when his father's patron, Sieur Gaston Pres-de-Caville, noticed the young boy's prowess at fighting, he offered to sponsor Pierre Paul for free.  Now a full-grown man, he feels a lot of loyalty to the nobility of Gisors.
