Born to a human mother raped by a half-orc raider in the Merane Range.  His mother died in childbirth, and his grandfather raised him until he was three but never bothered to name him.  Still, despite the cruelty of his birth, his grandfather showed him some small amount of affection, right up until he sold him to a slaver heading for Bas de Geant.  There, Bigjaw was raised to fight in wrestling arenas.
