Joseph is obviously adopted, and looks nothing like his father, Miles, or his human grandmother. Though still more of an older boy than a young man, he is large for his size, standing as tall as most full-grown human men already and broad in the shoulders, with a thick neck and big, awkward hands and feet. His skin has a yellowish or greenish tinge, depending on the light, and his jaw possesses a slight underbite caused by his enlarged canines there. Joseph does not so much have the beginnings of a beard as the endings of a facial pelt.

Despite his appearance (or perhaps because of it), the half-orc is respectful and quiet. When he does speak, his voice warbles between a piping tenor and a crackling baritone.
