Even for his breed, Steel is very large and muscular. Normally he has his black and brown coat readily visible, but if he's being ridden with full barding then he is largely covered with rider, saddle, bags and armour. His armour is multiple chain links backed by hard leather, with a matching skullcap. He also wears a very large leather collar with his name - STEEL - engraved on a metal plate in the middle.
