While the Stout Folk, in general, have a reputation for being closemouthed and even xenophobic, this fellow seems to make a deliberate effort to appear friendly. His nose is nearly the same shade of red as his enormous beard, and his eyes twinkle with the sort of good humor one might expect to see in a tinker or toymaker—or perhaps in some amicable fey creature out of a human child's storybook. His sturdy belt holds up a well-made pick, on one side, and a pipe of nearly the same size, on the other. Around his neck is a medallion of gold set with a large, masterfully-cut stone that gleams green even when not directly in the light, as though by some trick of lapidology it has an inner glow of its own.
