He appears silently from the darkness.  A night-black body with glowing red eyes.  His deep bass voice make you shake.  His intimidating presence makes you uncomfortable.

"WHY DO YOU SEEK THE REAPER?"

At one time, he was a human with a normal life.  But those times are hundreds of years past -- he has since lost his humanity, much of his humor, much of his friendships.

He died in space, and his corpse floated in the void amongst the stars, and then he was rescued and rebuilt by an advanced Alien species.  Perhaps a piece of his soul still floats in the voids of space?  The Reaper's moral code remains strong, despite his disconnection from others.  Perhaps he needs to make friendships again?

This is his dilemma -- anyone that makes friends with the Reaper so often dies.
