Sandra Day, was a native to the Lyran planet 'Summer'.  Born to a patriotic military family, Sandra went to the Skye academy seeking to place a position with the prestigeous Skye Rangers upon completion of her studies.

Such was not meant to be.  While there could be no arguement about her accuracy on the practice range, the rest of her scholastics left much to be disired.  Small petite and described as 'soft', the young cadet utter humiliation she was regularly 'man handled' by her classmates.  Reaction times were subpar, and a struggle for her that she worked day and night on to improve.

Her efforts were not destined to be rewarded.  In the end, simple scholastics proved to be her downfall.  Battlefield tactics, simple mech maintenance, leadership training, unit identification.  Failing grades in all these subject kept Sandra out of the Skye Rangers, who were looking for cadets with 'the total package'.

An uninspiring life of garrison duty, with the Lyran regulars loomed before her.  Rather than settle for this fate, Sandra decides that she deserved a fate better than this, and that she was more capable that her instructors expectations suggested.

Signing on with the Eridani's she finds that she might have bitten off more than she can easily swallow as the temperate climate native, is subjected to harsh 'artic' like conditions and spartan living conditions.
