Background/History:
Miriana first left the cloning vats around the time the Invid were attacking as a crew member of the Zentraedi Battlecruiser Thakun, one of the few remnants of the once proud fleet of the Robotech Masters during the Second Robotech War. With the defeat of the Masters however they had mostly been left to their own devices, and under the leadership of Captain Black the large ship hid in the ice rings of Saturn, using the ice as a supply of fresh water in order to preserve resources, and await the coming of the next attack force.

There, the ship (and her) took part in acts of piracy, attacking other vessels and raiding them for supplies, generally protoculture and food. Often the ship was left with enough fuel to return to the nearest colony, but sometimes the defending ship was destroyed in the battle when it refused to surrender. This was the climate for which she had been grown, and she assumed her role perfectly despite her slight imperfection.

Given the effect of Minmei's song the ship's science officers had been experimenting with enhancing the mental defenses of the crew to protect against such effects, but success rate was not too high. Most clones were flawed, the increased mental affinity ended up stumping physical development. In Miriana's case, she emerged with the appearance of a 14 year old girl rather than the full grown adult woman she was supposed to be. This proved only a minor inconvenience at best though, and her mental defenses were beyond anything on the Thakun's crew roster. After a harsh training of physical exercise proved to be enough to get her body within Zentraedi standards for acceptance, and the decision was made not to eliminate her as a failed clone.

Eventually the ship was noticed by the UEFF, and they sent a small force to investigate. After a brief battle where the Thakun had a strong tactical disadvantage dealing with an enemy that knew the ship's weaknesses, Black gave the order to surrender, resulting in the capture of the ship and all its surviving crew.

A number of crew members were convicted, but a large number of officers and crew were facing only minimal verdicts, on the condition that they join the UEFF. Captain Black had kept in touch with her though, and managed to convince her to undergo micronization to arrange a place for her in a UEFF training facility. After the initial shock that he had already undergone the process, her threshold for it was greatly reduced from the way she looked up at her genetic father. Ironically, this ended up curing some of the height difference between her and others, going from half of average height to just 'short'.

After her training was complete she joined the ranks of the UEFF.
