DESCRIPTION:

PERSONALITY: Nihilistic, but pragmatic, Dez tends to look on the darker side of life. While he's convinced that every silver lining has a dark cloud, he believes that through hard work and determination people can eek out some small shred of satisfaction in this life, and this is the focus of his music.

HISTORY: Dez was a frustrated black magic wizard in the Dark Ages who spent many years in a quest for ultimate power. At then end of his quest, what he attained instead was a fragment of wisdom that convinced him that power alone is empty and meaningless. But by then he had earned such a infamous reputation that an alliance of heroes confronted him and sealed him away in the "Jar of Evil."

Many years later, a team of archeologists unearthed Dez' lair, and unwittingly unleashed the wizard from his prison. But in spite of still being as dark as ever, he discovers that in the modern world a person can be praised for being dark if they do so in the entertainment industry, so he polished off his book on bardic magic and began his career as a heavy metal singer.

SCHTICKS: Dez's main powers related gags would be teleportation, summoning a metal band that includes classic monsters like a skeleton, vampire, werewolf, etc., stage magic, and maybe inventing the occasional temporary magical plot device the GM thinks would be fun. :p Beyond that, Dez is just out to make a buck like any other metal singer. Though he does take his message seriously, he doesn't really care how many believe what he has to say.
