Elliot Charles Pendergrass

Elliot is called El by everyone. He grew up on the West Coast south of old
Salem, Oregon. His father was a veterinarian and his mother owned a clothing
store in town. Their life was upper middle class.
He had three brothers and one sister. They hunted, they fished, they ran
the woods and they built tree-houses. They had snowmobiles and motorcycles
and dune buggys and all the toys of the day.

He was smaller than all his brothers, even the ones younger than he, and
took karate classes through his school. The brothers learned quickly to not
mess with the little guy, because he'd strike hard! He could shoot a
basketball better than any of them but was never tall enough to be on the
school team. His prowess with a rifle was evident growing up. He's bagged
many deer during hunting seasons. When he left for college El was ready to
leave, but without any regrets or negativity.

After earning his bachelor's degree in physics El came back home with a
girlfriend. He worked at a car dealership in sales and volunteered for the
fire department. She was a Forestry major who hugged trees and
video-documented erosion patterns created by illegal clearcutting operations
in the backwoods areas. They hiked and camped extensively. They took
advanced karate classes at a local dojo. Then she got an offer to go to
graduate school in Canada, and she was gone.

He took a Master's course in Seattle, and graduated with good grades.
He stayed in the area, working in the field of nuclear power generation. El
developed a curiosity for nuclear power generation after attending a
seminar from a world-famous physicist. He leveraged his employer into
paying for additional graduate classes and received a second Master's in
Geology. Attaining his Master's later than most other students was an
advantage, as his practical knowledge of existing technology and systems
made the study easier and maturity made it more distraction-free.

He was only in the industry for three years before Morrow Industries
singled him out. He is slight of stature but fit and bright.

El is a shorter guy and an academic, not a mule.
He passed Morrow Project training quite well, and discovered that he was
very capable at firing grenade launchers. His fellow Science team trainees
called him "El Bombo" for his habit of sneaking off to the firing range to
practice lobbing grenades at targets. He is issued the M10, the HP-35 and
the holstered grenade launcher HK 69A3.

El's team has been a couple weeks out of the bolthole.

Although El is nobody's badass, he has no jitters in combat and no
idealistic objection to ending anything that threatens him or his. The
grenade launcher is his preferred method of fighting.

He is tough but not muscular, and he preferred karate to weight lifting
or running. He is very accurate with any weapon.
