Water Hornet

Water Hornet
First impression of Water Hornet is simple: a young man, circa 6 feet tall and wiry. His facial features are those of a typical Sommlending - except for his brown eyes and slightly darker shade of skin (common in southern parts of Sommerlund). Otherwise, he is rather unremarkable and can usually be seen with a thoughtful expression on his face, although it is quick to break into a smile - not necessarily for any specific reason.
Hornet wears a traditional green Kai Cloak and completely white tunic - a style of dressing that has not changed since his days as a Novice. This traditionalism can be observed in his whole view of the Kai Order.

Water Hornet has a rather quite attitude, not being the one who would start a conversation or actively look for company of others. If approached, though, and presented with a question (especially one regarding the mechanics of the world around) Hornet will explain all and every detail of his point of view on the topic - speaking so much that one even starts to regret presenting the question in the first place. Hornet does realizes that, though, and sometimes stops speaking abruptly all by himself.

As a member of the third generation of Kai, he admires the Grand Master Lone Wolf, although in his case the matter used to border on extreme. Fortunately, this adoration started to decline to a healthy level as he was growing out of his child years. He was also spending less and less time within the Monastery walls as he progressed through ranks, often being sent on diplomatic missions (as his fighting skill are not worth noting compared to other Kai) to uphold the good name of the Kai Order, especially among common people of foreign lands (giving a helping hand here and there).

He gets along with other Kai Lords and Ladies, not having any one group especially close to him, neither there being Kai who he has problem interacting with. With exception of his battle-brothers and sisters who prefer to keep to themselves (like Red Dawn), but then again, Hornet is simply happy to grant them their wish. It could be noticed that he feels somewhat tense around Sun Fox, although he is always polite with her and anyone querying about the matter is dismissed that they are seeing things that are not there. Whether this is true or Water Hornet and Sun Fox has an intertwined history (considering they joined the Order at the same year) is unknown.

Of Hornet's past it is known he comes from a wealthy, yet not noble, family of Ruanon origin. Despite this, Hornet never looks down on his peers; to the contrary, he is ready (maybe even too eager) to prove he knows and can deal with hardships that the life brings.

Since one of his earlier missions Water Hornet has carried a dagger of foreign design: one having a narrow blade and a small cross-guard painted pitch-black just like its hilt. Those Kai Lords and Ladies closer to him call the dagger "Hornet's Sting" (some even making double-entendre jokes about it), but every time Water Hornet patiently corrects the speaker that its proper name is "Hornet's Venom".
