Valador

As his title would imply, he's been choosen as the new guardian of the Guildstaff, the greater treasure the Brotherhood owns, since the death, three years ago, of its previous Custodian, Loi-Kimar.

Since then, he's prominently risen in the political scene in Toran as Banedon's main political adverasry, and he's currently considered the unofficial leader of that portion of the Brotherhood that opposes Banedon's choices.

He's considered an highly skilled politician, his specialty being that to understand other people's motivations and using them to his advantage; it's clear that, in the climate of costant warring among the Guilds that goes on in Toran, this trait is one of the main reasons he's considered a possible alternative to Banedon.

However, some believe that his worldview is too narrow, and that Banedon, being older and more experienced, as well as having been abroad most of his life and having learned much from different cultures and way of life, has a better understanding of the nature of people and more tolerance toward compromises. As such, Valador is less well liked by guilds other than the Brotherhood, and this is likely the reason he has, so far, held back from challenging Banedon for his position.

Of course, since he's clearly less satlwart than Banedon, there's a strong possibility that most Guilds don't want him leading the Brotherhood because then they'd have an harder time in making their scheming successful. It's likely also this the reason he has so wide a support from his fellow mages - they believe he'd make the Brotherhood stronger.

This is strongly supported by his attitude toward the Brotherhood; he seems to always think to the best interest of his guild, and all the public speeches that built up his reputation were about ways of making it stronger, greater, better. It's one of the major reason he's so popular among his fellow mages; Valador's goal to make the Brotherhood a greater power is what most members of it would prefer to see happen.

Apparently, he and Sabre Fox meet in the past, cooperating in carrying over a joint mission between the Brotherhood and the New Order Kai during the Gnaag Wars. Although the mission was successful, Valador doesn't seem to have good memories of it, mostly because during it he was publicly upstaged by the Kai Lord, who managed to solve the mission by himself, making all of the magician's efforts appear futile by comparison.

Currently, he seems intentioned in meddling with the Kai Order's politics and the election of their future leader, apparently in an effort to get a better position for the Brotherhood out of it.

According to Sabre Fox recollection, the man has a god complex; while this might be exaggeration, he does held the Brotherhood to be a greater, better organization than the Kai Order, and of course this view translates to his opinion of the single members of each organization as well. He seems to have some form of great plan or project about the Brotherhood's future, likely something to do with indipendency, if what he's said is to be believed...

Whereas Sabre Fox thinks of him in derogatory terms, Laughing Shark, on the other hand, finds him sleazy... but this doesn't seems to stop her from being friendly to him. Everybody else just doesn't trust him; Swift Fox, in particular, seems to be certain he's a villain, perhaps even the mastermind behind the Toran's events - although she herself admits that this opinion isn't based on any evidence, and it's just a feeling.

It's important to notice that none of the Divination user in the group expressed having any such feelings regarding Valador, and acted, if not neutrally toward him, at least not as they would if they agreed with Swift Fox's evaluation.

He seems to be constantly enveloped in a spell that keep him perfectly clean, and if asked, he's smirk and say that it's to avoid dirtying his hands; it's not clear if this is in jest, and he likely prefers it this way.

GM NOTE: all the playes agreed that Valador's role in the game is to be a minor nuisance to their effort of discovering the truth of what's going on in Toran.

GM NOTE 2: most players now seems to agree with Swift Fox newly forme opinion of his villainy, even though his action on the Skyrider were less openly antagonistic than what previously displayed.
